Giro Stage 7

drheaton, May 12, 2012

Underway with a 4 man group 7 minutes ahead, breakaway is:
Selvaggi,
Rabottini
Beppu
Hollenstein

Looks like a similar day to yesterday although I expect it to all come back together ahead of the final climb.

Who did you all transfer in for today?

Cunego & Uran for me. Today's climb isn't that hard so I'm hoping it'll come down to a 'climbers sprint' for the win.

Rodriguez, Hesjedal and Sella were mine, transfers with a view to the next few days really although I might try and squeeze Cav back in to supplement Goss as my sole sprinter.

i've gone for j rod and pirazzi. often easy to forget that domestiques are just as important as star riders in this comp. I would have loved to have more transfers but c'est la vie.

Vicioso because he is an aggressive rider who will attack

Rubiano because he will be 2nd in the GC today or tomorrow, well ranked in KOM and points too

My team
Joaquin Rodriguez (KAT)
Ryder Hesjedal (GRM)
Enrico Gasparotto (AST)
Matthew Goss (GRE)
Enrico Battaglin (COG)
Miguel Angel Rubiano (AND)
Angel Vicioso (KAT)
Alfredo Balloni (FAR)
Emanuele Sella (AND)

I still have Goss, could not work out who to transfer in in his place Cungego, Scarponi, Uran, Pinotti or somebody else so I will leave him in for another day and take the 5 for points jersey

@TERatcliffe26 there is a proper summit finish tomorrow night, 6km @ 6% before semi flat 4km sprint to finish, I don't see Demare any good for that finish

posted by nickobec [223 posts] 12th May 2012 - 15:26

jrod
visconti
flecha
goss
malori
demare
kristoff
navakavarus

@nickobec yup thats why id be bringing him in for monday as I have a pretty climbish heavy team at the moment

J-Rod
Hesjedal
Gasparotto
Visconti

Navardauskas
Ullisi
Meersman
Vicioso
Pozzovio

so it will be meersman replaced my demare and nava replaced by someone I hope for a break (and also give me the credits to bring goss back in for the sprint stage)

Looks like im gonna have to rely on Guardini and Demare to do me a job in the sprint on monday as wont have any sprinters in my team Sad However with the likes of Hushovd and Farrar out maybe some of those hih on the GC will sneak into the top 20 and get some points that day.

As for tomorrow my DS side of my team is still a mess (ulissi, Nava, Vicioso not doing me anything!!) but still gonna be in my team Sad

posted by TERatcliffe26 [1807 posts] 12th May 2012 - 15:55

Crap, was settled on Pozzovivo but changed my mind and went for Sella this morning Sad

Lots of people will have gone for Tiralongo too as he was GTs tip for the day.. at least I picked up Rodriguez and Hesjedal, two out of three good transfers isn't bad, and I didn't make the mistake of picking up Rubiano.

posted by drheaton [1527 posts] 12th May 2012 - 16:08

I went vicioso yesterday rather than tiralongo, due to having gasparotto thinking this finish may suit him, but my two transfers in today were J-rod and Pozzovivo, so cant complain too much.

By the way, people, Dave is doing a 300km Audax today (chapeau, eh?) so I am on the scores.

Double and triple checking everything but it's on its way, albeit slowly.

Evening all, I missed EVERYTHING today, been on an ECG since early this morning. Still in the hospital

So my team for today didn't do to well

I took in Rujano and J-Rod but i don't know if i will pick up many points. I notice another one of my constant picks last year won again and didn't have him in Thinking

Anyways, i've made my transfers for tomorrow and most likely wont be on. I'll try and get on with this tablet, if whoever could post a link to a text update thingy it would be awesome as i can only get on a few things on this internet Crying

Evening Gkam, hope everything's ok.

Will do my best to keep text up to date tomorrow although most of what I get is from http://live.cyclingnews.com as I don't have Eurosport Sad

Managed 70 today, not sure on tonight's transfers, either one or two of Goss, Gasparatto and Lancaster will be getting the axe but not sure who, doubt Goss and Lancaster will get ANY points tomorrow but Goss is a must for Monday. Gasparatto is either out of form or holding something back. Lancaster is just pants...

Lancaster is going, I can afford to upgrade Goss for Scarponi or someone similar but it seems a waste to transfer Goss out and back in within 24 hours...

ARGHHHH! I hate this game.

Stuff the game what news Gkam, let us know by pm or otherwise. Ask what your Tropinins are, they are the key.

Oh a very lucky 108 by the way for me.

Simon, Meersman needs removing from the rider list as he abandoned.

True - I have absolutely no idea how to do that though. Just had a poke around behind the scenes and rather than break the game I'm going to leave well alone till Dave is back from his ride.

Today's transfer policy has been picked by my girlfriend who thought I should transfer in Rigoberto Uran and Dommenico Pozzovivo because she liked the names, ditched Goss and Lancaster so will have to use one of tonights transfers to bring in Goss and I won't be able to work Cav into my team.

I always struggle when the race swaps from flat to mountain and back again over 4 or 5 days like its going to do this week. I never seem to have the right guys or the right balance between climbers and sprinters.

Hope to see you back picking duff transfers as well as usual GKAM very soon.

I've done ok at fantasy cycling today, but, as a Bolton fan, I'm contemplating the reality of relegation, so my transfers may be a little pessimistic.
