hi all, thanks for all info on previous post about ribble frames, was about to pull pin on one of their frames when someone said to check out dolan frames, in a bit of a dilema,RIBBLE ALLOY 7046,CARBON BIANCO OR DOLAN ALLOY OR CARBON MYTHOS,will be using bike for weekday spins ,weekend 60k spins and some sportives ,so not sure if carbon is overkill or as i improve better to have carbon option to upgrade wheels etc later on ,anyone with dolan or ribble how do you rate them ,many thanks

Can't comment on the Dolan but they do look nice. I'd say if you can afford it go for carbon. You won't be disappointed. You can even get the Ribble carbon on bike to work if your employer does it.

I've just got a ribble sportive 7046 with 105 throughout on cycle to work and I'm thrilled with it. Build and finish are brilliant much better than my Giant.

My bro has got a Ribble and he loves it. He lives on the Yorks Moors and the Ribble eats the miles over the lumps and bumps.

stealth mmm very nice but is it not more of a full on racer,i like the bianco ,gran fondo, as well not got much experience on road stuff coming from mtb scene so still a bit unsure deffo wont be racing this is purely leisure what is the difference between them or is it a case of unless your racing they will feel pretty much the same ?

When I got mine from Graham Weigh Cycles (same region as your two shortlisted) the guy serving me pointed out a row of nude carbon frames and said "some are ours, these three were a cancelled order for Dolan, these others are Ribble, blah blah but they are all basically the same thing." I think the one I ended up with was a originally a Dolan, but now has Graham Weigh graphics. Great bike, but I think you'd be better spending time thinking about the other bits you're going to fit to the frame. Just buy the one with the nice look/paint job.

For what it's worth, my use of the bike is the same as you describe.

If I could have, say, 6 bikes, would it stop me drooling over others that I don't have?
