Reading through the new info, it's not entirely clear if you can win the bike if you don't go premium?

"Podium prizes can only be won by premium users."

So, presumably, if you don't go premium, and you play the Giro competition, even if you were to come first in the points overall, you wouldn't win the bike?

Or have I read that wrong?

Nope, that's how I read it, prizes for top three are limited to premium users but by the sounds of it there'll be non-premium prizes too, just not £2k bikes 1

I proabably will, if others are? Puts me out of a job with my spreadsheets though 2 tour of Romandie will be swansong

That's me signed up.

I can't see me winning anything either way but for £7 it isn't too much to ask for the joy of the game and the possibilities 4

It depends on how obscure your forum races are going to be really 7

You could set one up a spreadsheet the Halford Tour Series, nice pre-curser to the ToBritain with some of the same teams/riders involved.

I'm signed up and like the idea of extra races, and extra features (fingers crossed for multiple teams per account so I can run my purist team in the TdSuisse too). It's nice to see the new system (where you can pick a team for each race in advance so I can pick my TdF team now :D) rolled out to everyone too. I think it'll really come into it's own next year when there's a full calendar of premium races, I think some of the ones from earlier in the season (like the ToQatar, Pais Vasco, Catalunya and Romandie) would fit nicely in the premium calendar without diminishing the main game.

It'll be interesting to see whether the people usually at the top of the tables will sign up too in hope of winning a bike or whether it'll just be the regulars competing.

Fingers crossed it's a success and the game continues to thrive for years to come.

If you started Giro standard, found yourself on top of the table, could you go premium on the last day to win the bike?!

As I have already paid £7, I would be annoyed if someone could/did.

Good point Veseunr (I hope not). Ive paid up too, Wanna win the Sky jersey, but don't know if i was in the top 100

I raised that already Veseunr so hopefully it'll be looked at. I too would be pretty pissed if someone hadn't paid up at the start only to go an win it in the end.

Thought it was such a good point of yours that I would repeat, not that it will be me pipped at the post on past form 1

In short, no. There will be a cut off point for going premium for each tour.

That cut off point should be from Stage 1 of the Giro (or whichever Tour), same deadline as choosing riders then?

There's probably a few other little comps you can do!!

Going premium as well. Last year they had Evans, that wasn't going to last. For the price of a bottle of wine I think it's worth it. Cycling fever have a Giro game as well so might play that. No prizes I think though.

I started playing the cycling fever games earlier in the year, but seem to take alot more effort and are nowhere near as fun, so i stopped.

You mean like I could do Bayern-Rundfarht (still clashes with the giro), tour of luxembourg should defo be a goer before the dauphine (sky only team on the list at the moment), vattenfall classics, etc? the odd one. The prob with most the others is only a minority are the top teams. However is Dave is updating the rider database due to the extra races (will this be the case Dave?) It may be possible to run some of the non-world tour races. And could say set a value for all riders in any teams not on the database at say 3.5 credits.

I'm going over [to premium] now.

Thinking I might have to go for this, mostly to build on my love for the Tour of California. Probably gonna leave it 'til the lats minute though seeing as I don't get paid for another week, but, unless I forget, I should still have enough time
