Spring Classics for Purists - Fantasy Cycling

Lots of people have mentioned how difficult it is to pick a purist team for the Spring Classics. Purists are undoubtably penalised by the way the team selection process is arranged. This is because the choice is limited to only the riders on the 'next stage'.

This is great for the grand tours, but a big hindrance for the spring classics.

Why can't the choice be left open, and all riders be available? This request is because the start lists for each group of classics is likely to change between races.
If the list of participants is left fully open for all of classic races then no one would be disadvantaged. All participants would simply need to research their riders properly to ensure participation. The purists could for example pick riders who they knew had a chance of winning the second race of 3 but who was not in the 1st race, thus increasing point scoring chances overall. Also limiting purists chances of having no racers left in a team after the first race.

One for the pot.

The purist route is a challenge, everyone accepts that, but its entirely optional and if you don't want to continue with it then you don't have to.

My purist team did ok, Boonen, Cancellara and Vansummeren all got points with most of my riders racing the next two. Like the BigMong I picked riders across the races and had a few not raving G-W but hopefully they'll come good.

This is a tough stretch for the purists for sure. My strategy hasn't helped much so far, but I'm hoping to be able to say "I told you so" by the next unlimited transfer window.

I figured Paris-Roubaix was the "biggest" of these three and loaded my team up with mainly riders who have either come out and said Paris-Roubaix was a top priority for them this year, or riders who are known cobble specialists and it would be stupid for their team not to send them to P-R. Then I made a few compromises once the startlist for Gent-Wevelgem was finalized so I would have a shot at getting some points there. I figured at least half of my squad would probably happen to ride ToF in between, but frankly ToF wasn't even in my thought process so if I get anything there, it's gravy.

I really wanted Flecha for P-R, so I accepted the fact that he wasn't riding G-W and I sacrificed a star rider slot to keep him on my purist squad. Hushovd was nowhere to be seen in G-W, but I really think he will show up for P-R. Cancellara got me some points in G-W, and he's a no-brainer for P-R. Ballan is my other star rider. Figured he has a shot in the top 20 for any one of these races.

But so far I got a whopping 18 so what the hell do I know.

Really disappointed I have gone for the purist route now; purist for stage races but for one day races no. As it stands I have less than half a team currently set to start Flandersn with the current state of illnesses I would not be surprised if I only have one rider.

You can do this yourself

Instead of selecting "riders for the next stage" change it to "all riders" in the drop down menu 3
