I read on velonation that sohrabi was out of the lotto team.

I have gone for

Star riders

Vicenzo Nibali (LIQ)
Fabian Cancellara (RSN)
Denis Galimzyanov (KAT)
Daniel Oss (LIQ)

Domestiques
Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ)
Christian Vande Velde (GRM)
Ramunas Navardauskas (GRM)
Aidis Kruopis (GRE)
Alexander Kristoff (KAT)

Bit of a punt really as this my team selection, was debating going for an out and out sprint team first then changing but in the end decided to go for this.

posted by TheBSquad [2 posts] 14th February 2012 - 10:32

There seemes to be some very similar teams out there, Guess it will start to boil down to who backs that random DS for the the shock result

For me:

Mark Cavendish (SKY)
Andre Greipel (LOT)
Denis Galimzyanov (KAT)
Sylvain Chavanel (OPQ)

Domestiques
Christopher Sutton (SKY)
Aidis Kruopis (GRE)
Ramunas Navardauskas (GRM)
Gert Steegmans (OPQ)

I am hoping that Chavanel will be quicksteps main main rather than boonen in this tour and that they will try to set Steegmans up for at least one stage win/ high position as a little reward for last week.

I was going to go for kittel but took a last min change. Hope it wont bite me today. In both the TDU and TOQ i seemed to have quite poor starts good middles then and ok last stage so hoping his time to make better start

posted by rhysb [13 posts] 14th February 2012 - 10:44

Kittel
Cav
Greipel
Wagner
Steegmans
Gallopin
*****(climber)
Kruopis
Selig

I have to admit that I didn't think much about this team, completely omitted Guardini without realising. So with this in mind I'll probably get my best result so far! Big Grin

Mehdi Sohrabi isn't there, he's off to Malaysia for the Asian championships, nice to let us know yesterday and by the time i heard it was this morning and it was past deadline

Also doesn't help that the "official" site lists NO riders http://www.letour.fr/2012/TOO/RIDERS/us/engages.html

Then there is NO tv coverage in the UK, could be very interesting if we get any scores Devil

Right, this will be me to start off with:

David Millar (GRM)
Denis Galimzyanov (KAT)
Adam Blythe (BMC)
Gert Steegmans (OPQ)
Jeremy Hunt (SKY)
Aleksandr Kuschynski (KAT)
Pier Paolo De Negri (FAR)

Cav just tweeted: Yep, not the best of days today. Ran off the road by Alexander Kristoff with 1200m to go. Shit happens. Well done to @AndreGreipel.

I am not sure this is fair - I found out a few days ago that Sohrabi was out of Oman and so removed him from my team. It wasn't *that* last minute a withdrawal. I had Farrar in a few stages ago - can I have some points for him for today please? (I joke).

I dont think he means points for Sohrabi

What he means is our team is still valid, because starting a race with 8 riders makes your team invalid

Once the race has begun, do what you like, but 1st stage you have to have 9 riders in the race

When i went to bed last night he was still listed as being able to be picked on this site. If whoever replaced him got points i think it's only fair that they get those points for Sohrabi. A lot of us dont have the time to search websites for entry lists and expect this webiste to be correct especially less than 10hrs before kick off.

You must do some really in depth searching on your riders, i just do a general google, see that their fit and riding, then look up their wikipedia page if they have one, see their past results in the race or similar style races Big Grin Nerd

No-one got points for Sohrabi as he didn't race, He would have had to start AND finish the stage. If someone jumps off mid stage, then correct, he scores 0 even if his team mate wins
