February Races
Are the tours of Qatar and Oman or the Vuelta a Andalucia going to be included in the fantasy season? Other races in Feb which would be good to include would be the Volta ao Algarve and the Giro di Sardegna but these clash with the tour of Oman and the Vuelta a Andalucia.
It seems a shame to have a month completely race free and after a fairly good start in the TDU, I don't want to have to wait until Paris-Nice to get my team racing again again.
yes - what a huge gap to Paris-Nice - please Road CC - help us out with at least Oatar and Oman
Why don't we just practice and see how we would have done. You get all the results on the Internet anyway.
Aldecycle - Its all about my bike
I have to admit it seems sensible to have at least a couple of races, no matter how short, included for February, but i will leave that upto the powers that be.

I imagine it's quite some work to add something ... But it would be nice.I'm a newcomer but really enjoyed this, Thank you.
I Time Trial, that way I'm not such a danger to other cyclists!
At the end of last season peer pressure caused the powers that be to add a race on at the end so i imagine the system is already in place to add or remove races.
Mind you i know as much about computers as Andy Carroll knows about putting a ball in the net this season.
Stumpy
See I think all world tour races should be added unless there is a crossover. So tour de Romandie, Eneco Tour and Tour of Bejing could all be added in my opinion
But its all up to Dave, he does a great job at running this game as it is, i just like the day to day, so miss it when there are big gaps in the schedule
the moon on a stick. that's what you'll be asking for next.
tour of qatar/tour of oman aren't beyond the realms of possibility since they're ASO and we can be fairly sure the results will be up quickly and accurately. i'll need to look into it a bit though.

Well if your offering to do that, id like to see it
What about just Het Nieuwesblad and K-Brussles-K as bonus stages at the end of February

These appear to be more realistic than the week long tours especially if there is concerns over the accuracy of the results and timing.

Looks like we have the Tour of Qatar to look forward to in February
Here's a link to a provisional startlist

yes, and the tour of oman too.
As I sit here with my broken ankle, this brought a smile to my face!
Thankyou.

Hmm, personally I dont mind the break, its time consuming picking your team every day, all the more so for the big races which mean 3 weeks consistent effort.

yup, they'll count to the overall.

you can always go purist for those ones... only one team to pick then

It's all part of the fun mate, enjoy it whilst you can.

What about Het N and KBK, the two most overlooked races on the calendar.
Not my favourites though

Wow, gonna be some tough choices for tour of qatar for such a flat race in the main.....Renshaw, Cav, Greipel, Sagan, Hushovd,
our first real view of how teams etc may be picked for the tours
I'll look forward to it, thanks Dave.

No way is it set in stone, but it's not to bad a team - so far

sounds like there will there be more people doing Fantasy cycling than actually spectating at the whole of the Tour of Qatar!
Sterling effort, Dave. Thought I'd struggle through Feb with no FC, but this has made my day. I'll probably still struggle through Feb, though, given a few bad team selection choices!
At the end of last season peer pressure caused the powers that be to add a race on at the end so i imagine the system is already in place to add or remove races.
Oops, think I started that with the Giro di Lombardia
Dave, sorry to find you even more work.
But as I say `You're a very nice man'
Gorra Gemmybellyoff @ Team Fatsana
YES! we wait months for fantasy cycling to come back - have a good TDU, and then the candy is removed for 6 weeks, or so it seemed - well done Road CC and thanks for listening
bring on Qatar - on the fantasy, and in the flesh

ill 3rd that .. cheers dave .. made my day
Just checked price of my team for Qatar,& now can't afford them with my points balance. Balance down & prices up
Can't find a proper profile for race neither, any links?
Gorra Gemmybellyoff @ Team Fatsana
Thanks Dave & Co for including the Tours of Qatar and Oman. Now I will have to go study them.
+1 to include Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and/or Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne to fill in the gap at end of February. Only problem is they are on following days, so only small window to swap riders out (good chance to test the automate roster changer thing, if you have built it). It will get the fantasy players looking at some of the smaller 1 day classics.

Keep an eye out on http://www.steephill.tv/
Best place to get all the info on any race you want
Here is the full Parcours for this year, i dont think they bother showing profiles as its pretty much ALL flat http://www.letour.fr/2012/TQA/COURSE/us/le_parcours.html
Was going to say one is pan flat and the other is a bit lumpy but couldn't remember which way round.
Stumpy
Flat ! A few sand dunes and flat . . . uphill to the podium for the winner.
So I'd go for someone like Rigoberto Uran !

The stage at Jabal Al Akhdar (the Green Mountain) with a final climb of 5.8 km at an average gradient of 10.3 percent, reaching up to 13.5 percent over the last two kilometres, will be one of the highlights of the third edition of the Tour of Oman.

oops, thanks, well spotted. Bobridge is no climber. Better change him for one of those Euskadel riders, they're good going uphill.

Dam'n, I shouldn't have said, since your topping NW & IOM keague
These did well for me last season, so will loyaly stick by them for next race
D. Martin
D. Moreno
J. Bakelants
N. Roche
K. Seeldraeyers
+ 4 TBA
Gorra Gemmybellyoff @ Team Fatsana
Martin and Moreno did me proud on quite a few occasions, but with the new set up, unless i think they can get a win, up in the alps or somewhere, i may well steer clear and stick to riders like Galimzyanov and Wagner for the climbs and Faria Da Costa and Gasparotto for the sprints

I have not found which will be the scoring for tour of qatar stages
I have not found which will be the scoring for tour of qatar stages
me neither. but i expect i'll have a poke around tomorrow and sort out some scoring criteria
Where there are 3 jersey's
Gold - General individual classification
Silver - General points classification
White - Best young rider classification
So there are your jersey points sorted out
The normal GC and Stage points?
There are 9 sprints up for grabs
Also 5 finish sprints (not that they could in the game)
There is the TTT on Stage 2, so i guess thats going to be the normal TTT set up, unless your going to discount dropped riders
I have 501 riders to choose from for Qatar, which is fine except there are 16 teams of 8 which equals 128. Any chance of an update to the game?
http://www.letour.fr/2012/TQA/RIDERS/us/engages.html
this is the latest rider and reserve list on the website.
Goss is not riding.
... Other races in Feb which would be good to include would be the Volta ao Algarve and the Giro di Sardegna...
Dave, what's the chance of being able to add these races next year? Seems like Algarve would be more fun 'cause there's both a mountaintop finish and (!) a time trial.
