Who's coming cycling on a safe road?

Just seen a report on the BBC from Burma about something or other, i didn't really pay much attention to be honest

The thing that got me what the super highway that Burma has built, 20 lanes and there was 1 car and 1 motorbike on it, so after doing some research (looked on wikipedia)

Quote:

Public transport services are limited between neighborhoods. The eight-lane, 323.2 km Yangon-Naypyidaw highway links Naypyidaw with Yangon directly, and is part of the 563 km-long overall Yangon-Naypyidaw-Mandalay highway. There is also a 20-lane boulevard, but like most roads in the city, it is largely empty.

Not a clue, but i'm only talking about the road, i don't think there is a way into the country without being granted special permission or sneaking in across the border

Not entirely sure how safe cycling in Burma would be... there's all the Juntas still, aren't there?
