People I actually want:
Sagan, Cav, Rojas, Goss, EBH, Thor, PhilGil, GT, Kittel

I don't even want to add up how many credits that is. Current team:

Jose Joaquin ROJAS GIL
Edvald BOASSON HAGEN
Philippe GILBERT
Peter SAGAN
Matthew BRAMMEIER
Rui Alberto FARIA DA COSTA
Mathew HAYMAN
Marcel KITTEL
Geraint THOMAS

This is likely to change again. Brammeier, Hayman and Faria are semi-random cheap DS picks. Do you tend to get DS breakaways in a world champ RR?

Thats pretty much the team i wanted originally Stewie, except i wanted Bennati/Gavazzi rather than Goss and would have put someone like boom or Da Costa rather than both Norwegians

I'd have the Sagan, Cav, Rojas, EBH, Gilbert and Kittel part But i'd have O'Grady, Bennati and Millar

Thats if i had unlimited credits, because that team comes in at 225, if i had my pre Giro balance i could afford them all 20

Thoughtful preview by Gerard Vroomen, who disagrees: http://gerard.cc/2011/09/23/world-championships-mens-race/

"If Thor puts an X on his calendar, he is ready on that date. He can prepare in the Vuelta, the Tour of Britain, at home or in your local spinning class, it does not matter. Thor will be ready, and a ready and focused Thor can win anything."

He also doesn't like Cav for the win.

Wonder if GV would be saying that if Thor were already riding BMC, not Cervelo 3

Having seen the finish straight in the women's elite today, I'd say it suits Thor better. It's about 5% uphill for 500m then 100m flat. It's a totally weird finish, but I'd say Thor over Cav.

I wouldn't put much store in the women's event - I can't bring myself to call it a race.

If enough teams help the Brits control the race then I reckon it will be a fast sprinter to win (as opposed to a power sprinter like Thor, Sagan, Gilbert).

I think even if its a normal sprint sagan showed in madrid what he can do in a bunch finish

I think I'm done...

I won't go publishing my team until after 11 (not that it matters) but you all have the main ones anyway. I do have 2 riders no-ones mentioned yet but then there's probably a reason for that. 16

Mark CAVENDISH
Thor HUSHOVD
Philipe GILBERT
Peter SAGAN
John DEGENKOLB
Denis GALIMZYANOV
Marcel KITTEL
Kristijan KOREN
Anders LUND

expecting bunch finish, with Gilbert to attack with 1km to go.

Galimzyanov & Kittel a bit of reach/risk with the distance and uphill finish.

Not worried about Koren and his finish in Paris on the Tour.

Lund did well in Toronto & Quebec

I am really sorry if I ruined anyone's team by telling them Cav couldn't sprint up that hill, I did crap (37) but what a great result 4

yeah but that's his job Gkam84 - it's not his fault he gets the headlines - that's down to the simply ways of us media types. I think it's clear he knows well enough that he may be a missile but he's only the tip and every missile needs some sort of delivery system.

You also have to give him credit for finding his way through those last few 100 metres on his own cos he didn't really have a lead out. The to keep on doing that that so many times given the explosive nature of the sprint at that point, and the fact that he's spent 6-8 hours in the saddle is a pretty special ability. It's also got to be said that his peers obviously don't begrudge him his wins.

Hey i'm glad the UK won it in the end and all credit to him for doing it and getting through after being blocked out and stuff

Its just a shame that all the riders from the team don't get the rainbows or some sort of badge to wear, a bit like ex world champs can wear it on their sleeves, the rest of the GB team today should get to wear something to mark out that it was a team effort and not just one guy at the end 4 4
