Single sped chain life

I have a Charge Mixer 8, it has an eccentric bottom bracket which is now at the extreme front of it's adjustment and the chain is limp. If I turn the eccentric all the way to the back and remove a link the chain is too short to be joined back together.
Am I just being tight and should just get a new chain or am I missing something about the available adjustment?
I have done about 3800 miles on this chain.

Any thoughts appreciated. 7

time for a new one me thinks, I can recommend KMC chains, I got a bog standard £7 job from my LBS & it's been ace so far, plus replacing it doesn't hurt too much...

Okay, new chain it is - got my eye on a nice red number to 'complement' the black frame!

Get yourself a new chain!! Especially if you are doing that kind of mileage.
