am doing the bealach mor on 3rd sept and was wondering wot gearing people will be using i have a compact with a 12-25, does anybody think this will be ok for the long slog up the bealach,or would a 11-28 be better

This is a hard answer without knowing your ability level. The first year I did the Beag I used a 50/34 - 12/25. I swapped to a 13/29 for the Mor the same year and have used that ever since. Last year this got me round in 5hrs. Note that the Bealach itself isn't the steepest part of the course, some of the smaller climbs around the peninsular are steeper, and you get to these when you are pretty tired. The 29 is a nice "bail out" gear when things get really tough.

Yes, the 11/28 sounds good.
