But i transferred GT out last week . . .
Still got G in my team largely because I am way too disorganised to have planned ahead and indeed have missed the transfer deadline over the past couple of days, though I managed to get a couple of carrots into today's team (but not the one actually in the break).
Evans stage win and into yellow would be good, especially since I have another BMC rider too.
OH FFS Ruben Perez and Roy in the break AGAIN, just transferred them out the other day
I wonder how Cunego will do today. Interested to see what he does.
Also where are Liquigas???? Will they appear in the shape of Basso??
Cant see Basso doing anything. Rigoberto Uran will finish well up and don't discount Nico Roche but hopefully Evans will kick on up to Luz Ardiden. Berty's too knackered to try anything significant until the Alps and the Schlecks always flatter to deceive. Also, there's bound to be a patriotic Frenchman giving it the beans. It's shaping up to be good Tour this year.
I kinda hope Conego can do something, got him in my halfords team, along with Contador, Schleck and Voeckler
there goes Thomas's chances
and everyone else crashes and with it goes my team velits and kloden and others of mine, oh dear
Thomas is ok again, Gesink has just blown tho
Thomas in white eod?
Kloden crashed again, Gesink blown... this tour is turning into one epic struggle ... lovin' it
Blimey, what odds Thomas and Roy for the finale ? One can dream......
Kinda hoping Thomas dont get while cause i have Taaramae down for that one, but not seen him anywhere
Roy in Polka but only a few points ahead of GT with the last climb to go
Wonder if these two - Roy & Thomas - can stay ahead of the peloton for the finish. I feel they have a better chance now that Leopard Trek's train is spent and the remaining riders may just mark each other.
GT going backwards - hang on in there
I get 5 pts if Sanchez wins . . . go Euskatel
Finally some 1-2 by the Schleks! Didn't go far but atleast the attacks are starting
Though, if someone from the break wins (as seems likely), I hope it is vanendert for the 5 bonus points from Gilbert
Border guards doubled tonight, on look out for small portions of "special" beef steak required by despairing well known cyclist......
Gilbert did not bad himself, Contador lost a bit of time
But rider of the day for me has to go to Pierre Rolland for keeping Voeckler in yellow
My team that looked good at the start of the day has been destroyed, whens the next rest day for 4 transfers?
yh same gkam, rest day 2morrow please or extra transfers?
Does anyone think Contador may have made that look hard today so the Schlecks think he's not a threat, he only dropped like 10 secs to Andy, so he might try go away tomorrow without them bothering because they will be looking at other threats?
I have no idea how I performed. I should get about 70 points but that kinda score has placed me anywhere from top 200 to 500+ ...
Question now is should I drop Thomas now or does he still have something in the tanks to go for that white jersey and some breaks?
Don't think the difference right now is small enough for the Schleks to let Contador go right now.
Plus they have the advantage of one covering him while the other stays with Cadel & others...
Yeah buts that has always been their problem, who marks and who goes, Frank went today, but i think they want Andy to win, so they are gonna end up back like they always do and feck themselves up
Agree that the Schleck's tactics have often been poor. But today they managed a proper 1-2 job - each attacking in turn until one of the attacks stuck. So maybe they've been listening to all the criticism? And to be honest, at this point, it doesnt matter which one follows contador if he attacks, provided they stay with him - if Schleck+Contador got a big gap, it would always end up with a Schleck in yellow, not Contador, as they're both well ahead. More interesting would be if Evans gets a gap - would Andy chase and risk Frank missing out on the jersey, or would Frank chase and risk Andy losing more time to Evans? If they always want to play the 1-2 card then they have to always keep both riders in touching distance of the other favourites. And with good form and apparently much better tactics, they might just manage it this year...
The biggest concern for the Schlecks will be 'who is likely to get far enough ahead of Evans to not lose the gap in the TT'. Andy is a better TTer than Frank so it'll be easier for him to build up a decent gap and they're gonna need one as the Schlecks are probably two of the poorer GC top guys.
Congratulations to all the thousands of teams with Geraint Thomas who smacked me by 20 points today. Other than that I think I did alright. One of my transfers did a beautifully unexpected ride... thankyou that man!
Good point drheaton. Guess Contador shouldnt be ruled out in the time trial either - if he's below par he may struggle to beat Evans, but he could still give either Schleck a pasting.
