Tyre blown at the bead

Bear in mind I never use lever to fit or remove a tyre, I've recently experienced a tyre blowing near the bead.
When I removed the tyre about 2" of kevlar bead was exposed (looks like yellow string).
The tyre had abou 600Km in it.
It just seems like there wasn't enough rubber at that point. Has anyone else had this?

that's often caused by something rubbing at the point where it fails. check the rim to see if there are any sharp points on the inside of the bead rail. it can also be caused by something getting caught between the bead and the rim when the tyre's pumped up, a bit of swarf or a sharp stone.

Or it could just be a dodgy tyre 39
