Would anyone use one if there was one set up?
It might be nice to split the cycling topics and other things up. 
It might be a good way of encouraging more off topic chatter, which is often a good thing in my opinion. You wouldn't feel like you were sullying the nice bike chat that way...

Yeah for sure. There are a few threads I think would work, such as pics of your best/most prized bikes, training info, nutrition, even one where people in a similar location could arrange rides?

I've got to say Jon, most of your suggestions sound remarkabely on-topic, I prefer the obligatory "what are you listening to on your iPod", "my girlfriend is acting strangely" and "that Micheal Winner advert is sending me insane" type of thing. It really needs to have no reference to bicycles whatsoever...

Fair point. Maybe split the forum up into different topics and have one totally off topic thing for the like you are mentioning.

Maybe we could have something like a Tea stop or Coffee stop forum where you can talk about anything. Who's for tea and who's for coffee?
