Brooks B17 central channel modification

I've made a hole in the middle of my black, titanium railed, broken in B17 to relieve perineum pressure
It's a channel about 1" wide
Then to stop the sides splaying out I've added lacing
Photos etc here on blog

I've tried it now on a 300km ride

With the lacing undone it is definitely more comfortable, so good result!

Yes, you are thinking of this

And very loverly it is too. It doesn't have titanium rails but otherwise it looks pretty good. Last time I looked into the Imperial model it seemed to be in the "Narrow" width only- at least that was my impression. But according to the current Brooks info, the Imperial is now standard width as well. So maybe I'll get one.

Another different alternative suggestion that looked good ( I haven't seen this saddle IRL ) was the "Titanico LD Watershed" from the US http://www.selleanatomica.com/sterling%20buyer.htm
