Team Points

So, just to clarify, does my rider have to compete in the race in order to earn points for being in the team of the winner.

For example, if I have Andy Schleck as my team leader and Fabian Cancellara wins the Ronde but Andy doesn't ride, do I still get 5 points for having Andy on my team?
