London cycle club

So I moved to London a while back, and am slowly dragging my way back into more serious, non-commuter cycling. I'm looking for a nice middle of the road club to join. Not all Elite's, and not quite the CTC Sunday ride group either.

So, does anyone know of a good club round Islington that's fairly active with it's club runs and maybe has more aspiration than actual ability?

How is the Boris Bike scheme working out in London? Interested to see how it compares to Paris where it has been a huge success. Somehow I just don't think London has enough cyclist-friendly features on the roads for it all to work too well... but hey, maybe I should have more faith.
