Stowable waterproof overshoes - do they exist?

TheHatter, September 14, 2010

At this time of year I'm still in shorts and pack a waterproof jacket but if I get caught in the rain my feet are soaked. However overshoes seem to come in one of two categories: waterproof and really warm or lycra and with no protection.

Do you know if anyone does stowable waterproof overshoes? Thinking

...and if not why not? Big Grin

That's the type of thing! Be good to see them in the flesh to make sure they fit in a rear pocket.

BBB Waterflex overshoes don't take up much room and are good at keeping out the wet

I have the Pro Tarmac ones in the link above. They are thin, and the material is rubberised and so waterproof in the sense that no water goes through the material. The water does go round the material though - it gets in through the holes on the base of the overshoe and can get in through the ankle hole unless you have the velcro very tight.

To be fair, you'll probably end up with this problem with any 'waterproof' overshoes - they all need cleat holes so you won't get a complete seal. They keep out a god amount of water in all but the very wettest conditions.
