Hub Gear Commuter Advice Please

Hi folks,

I'm looking for some advice / recommendations for a decent hub gear commuter.  I've got about £700 to play with.  Any suggestions gratefully received!

Thanks,

Duncan

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.  I've gone for a Marin Fairfax SC2.  I think it'll work a treat as a winter commuter....

Well Duncan, I love and can heartily recommend my Charge Mixer as a year-round, cycle through anything, low-maintenance commuter. They don't make them any more, but its successor, the Grater, is as good, if not better. The Grater 3 will get you Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, an 8 speed Alfine hub and proper, fixed mudguards. The RRP is £799 but now's the time to shop around and get an 'old' 2016 model. Evans Cycles have limited stock available at £639, for example.
