Does anyone live in Singapore?

Hi.
Travelling there soon and would like to do a couple rides at the weekend. Need help on routes etc. Group ride I could join would be cool.

Thanks!

I did the 90km route this morning and it was excellent, first half quick on fast empty roads (if you go early enough, the cycling scene out here seems to start at 6am to beat the traffic and heat) and the second half slower on very well maintained park tracks which are well used but by slower non roadies.

The best thing is by looking at the strava flybys page I've now pinched some other routes of people I passed today ☺

I live in Singapore, though personally not a group ride fan.

Singapore bike paths are called PCNs (Park Connector Network), they're mainly for pottering about, definitely not for groups. Some good info here https://www.google.com/maps/d/view?mid=1d-f3wTmqM3jmT7C1LtTzorsRbGw

Most groups I see are out early, due to the heat/humidity. Even riding solo, I leave around 4.30am on weekends for my 100km circuit. I see this group out all the time, they're friendly enough, but looks like it's a paid club setup http://www.anza.org.sg/members/group_content_view.asp?group=112353&id=271433

One easy ride, any time of day is from Marina Bay, over Marina Barrage, East Coast Park, Changi Coast Track to Changi Beach. It's about 30km each way, 100% pan flat on bike path with only 1 road crossing. East Coast Park does get busy with families on the weekend, so lots of riders stick to the service road rather than the bike path through the main busy section

Here's a ~90km route I ride most weekends. The first half is mostly road, the 2nd half mostly PCN. https://www.strava.com/routes/5082055.

Singapore weather is generally hot and humid with afternoon thunder showers 3-5 days a week - http://www.nea.gov.sg/weather-climate/forecasts/4-day-outlook

Happy riding.

I haven't seen anything like group cycling in Singapore in many visits but there is at least one cycle club, http://joyriders.sg/

I've noticed a long cycle track out around Changi airport /Changi beach that's very popular. Most of the main roads I've seen are motorway-style so didn't look very nice for cycling and don't appear to have parallel tracks. Good luck and please report back!
