kinlin xr-200 rim, worth the upgrade?
My rear wheel is currently a Shimano hub 32h sapim laser spokes with an exal xr2 rim. It's been sturdy and reliable but the hub is starting to feel rough after the last service so I'm wondering whether to rebuild or get a new wheel.
The one that's in budget and lighter than this is
Novatec cartridge bearing hub 28h, dlite spokes and a kinlin xr-200 rim.
Anybody have any thoughts on this rim?
The whole wheel would be about 700g which is 280g lighter than my current one, 100g of which is in the rim. Is this likely to be noticable and worth spending on?

You'll notice the difference going uphill at least. Whether it's worth it or not depends on some other factors though...
Rider weight - if you're a heavier rider a 28 spoke rear can have durability issues.
Similarly, if you ride laden then I'd stick to 32 spokes.
If you're answering no to both of the above, I'd definitely consider it.
However... The xr200 isnt regarded as the stiffest rim so unless you are at the light end of weight scale you might find the benefit of a lighter wheel cancelled out by annoying brake rub when yomping up hills.
