GIRO blocking sales of helmets from Bike Discount in EU

Here's something I've stumbled on and would like some to hear some thoughts on this.

It seems Giro Helmets is preventing Bike Discount in Germany from selling any of the their products to the UK. Seems as if it only applies to the UK, since I can change the shipment location to France and everything is ok.

I emailed Bike Discount and they confirmed that Giro is behind this and state it is because we have our own distribution centre.

Is it me or do Giro seem oblivious to what the EU is all about? Surely this is an illegal practice?

Awesome Matthew thanks for that.

Bike Discount seem to have rollen over. I emailed them again and they just advised me to buy one from a UK seller.

Giro have ignored my tweet when I asked them lol.

Yes, this is illegal price discrimination and against EU rules. See:

and

Good luck! You could I suppose try taking them to the Small Claims Tribunal?

Must be new. Ordered (and received) my Giro Synthe from bike-discount.de in March this year.
