Winter Wheels - Advice Please

Hi, looking for some advice on winter wheels that I use for training and commuting. I've currently got a set of Mavic Ksyrium's but the free hub snapped on the way into work today (where the spoke slots in at the hub) and they're now a little dead.

I was wondering what wheels people recommend or recommend to avoid. I really liked the Mavics but was concerned that they may not be the most appropriate wheels for winter owing to spoke numbers etc. I've been thinking of a set of Hope Pro3 with Stans rims?

Cheers, Ed

15-20 year old Hope mtb hubs hand built on Mavic CXP rims here.

Yep they'd be good, or you could look at some wider rims (depending on model of Stans rims) suck as h plus sons archetype....
Get a few crossed spokes to add a bit of comfort.
