annoying Subscribe pop-up

the technical genius is hiding because he hasn't yet worked out how to make the "don't show again" stop showing again. That said, if you're logged in it shouldn't show… another good reason to log in then

Let us know if it is showing when you are logged in though

I thought it was just my computer being crappy. I can see why you would want it but it is quite annoying for regular visitors (ie. us with nothing better to do)

don't worry it's not permanent… although it might er, pop up again from time to time.

We're just trying to tell people about the various benefits of the site, that you get from being logged in. One, which I don't think we've mentioned is that you see the site update in real time if your logged in whereas it's cached for a few mins if you're not logged in… you never know could be crucial one day

i've changed the script so it logs your IP when it shows the popup, and shouldn't show it again for you after that.

Yes it still doesn’t work properly and it's starting to get very tedious, annoying, intrusive etc...

Could i suggest you turn the thing of until you know how to deploy it? Please.

I haven't seen it for a couple of weeks, but if you move between computers with different IP addresses chances are you will if it works by logging your IP address and I suppose the same applies if you have a dynamic IP address?

Can you stop it from reminding me i'm not logged in every time I read a new story or move back to the homepage.
I don't want to log in every time I come to the site & don't think I will be back if it keeps on throwing this pop up at me.

We've turned it off now, it's work is done.
