Before you say "oh, exercise keeps you healthy? Shocker!", the point was that they were trying to isolate the aging process by removing the effects of sedentary lifestyles, but instead of revealing a reasonably consistent 'normal' rate of aging, they found that cycling in particular prevents or limits onset of age-related factors.

I'm currently typing this with one hand after flying over my handlebars and breaking my shoulder. Getting back on my bike seems a long way off at the mo and certainly not the healthiest pursuit in the world. But, after 25 years of riding, one serious accident doesn't seem too bad.

I can't wait to get back to it live well past 100!  16
