The big question is, well, any (!) of these... will Contador make a Top 5 placing?... Will Dan Martin come good?... Will Kelderman and Uran keep up?... Will Aru start his Vuelta with a whimper?... Will Arredondo attack from miles away and then fade?.... Will Purito leave everyone else eating his dust?... Will Valverde stick something in Froome's spokes?... So many questions! All to be answered today! 1

JRod
Froome
Dan Martin
Mas
Chaves

Gatto
Gaurdini

Thought about Arredondo but with him being 20+ mins down didn't feel it was worth it, prehaps wait for a stage with plenty of climbing 39

Really couldn't decide whether to go with a GC team or some stage-hunters. So did a bit of both - Dan Martin, Purito, LLSanchez, Yates, plus Froome just in case.

Also left Bling in - are we definitely sure that he'll lose the jersey today? He won into Montecassino at the Giro...

Tried to keep some balance between today and tomorrow. Maybe one transfer tomorrow?

Lloyd Mondory (ALM)
Oscar Gatto (CAD)
Joaquin Rodriguez (KAT)
Winner Anacona (LAM)
Daniel Martin (GRS)
Christopher Froome (SKY)
Nairo Alexander Quintana (MOV)
Gerald Ciolek (MTQ)
Guillaume Levarlet (COF)

I'll be amazed if Matthews is in contention near the end. The final climb reaches 12.8% for a km and then 10% for the last 3km.

Don't think Matthews will care about today as he would need Yates and Chaves to drag him up the hill. He could win tomorrow instead

6 transfers, 2 pens

Jrod
Froome
Chaves
D. Martin
Kelderman
Mondory
Debusschere (who has a birthday today)
Fominykh (will never get a spare transfer to get rid of him)
Mas

Got
Martin
Quintana
Kelderman

Plus
Matthews
Martens
Mas

Others won't figure. Wouldn't be surprised if Matthews does ok today although Montecassino was a touch easier but longer. Keeping him for tomorrow which suits him more as I don't want to take pens yet. Martens could make top 20 today, maybe, more for tomorrow as well. Keeping back a couple of cheap sprinters for 8 as well and need to get rid of Wyss soon.

Break looks like it will be caught. Orica working so obviously believe in Matthews. He could hold onto the jersey with 13 second lead. It's only about 3.75k!

Fantastic finish! 5 of the best stage racers shoulder to shoulder in the last 500 metres before a summit finish. If only Nibali was there too.

Brilliant stuff. What we'd have seen in the tour if froome and contador had stayed on their bloody bikes. So excited I only just realised how badly my fantasy team did. Bye bye niemiec, what a duff pick that was. Too hot I spose, should've followed the crowd and gone for chaves but I know nothing about him really. Shame barguil wasn't 2 credits cheaper!
