John Degenkolb (GSH)
Fabio Felline (TFR)
Jens Debusschere (LTB)
Andrea Guardini (AST)
Michael Matthews (OGE)
Jonathan Castroviejo (MOV)
Tom Boonen (OPQ)
Koldo Fernandez (GRS)
Moreno Hofland (BLK)

Expecting echelons now.

No Bouhanni or Sagan, too expensive. Probably a big mistake.

Think I was a bit over-exuberant with my transfers - I should have made one fewer and kept Boonen or Maes - they are experts in the echelons.

Bouhanni
Degenkolb
Matthews
Hofland
Pelucchi
Felline
Rowe
Fumeaux
Levarlet

Starting from minus 30, so very dubious about my tactics - I always start Grand Tours badly and then move up in the mountains, so thought I'd try something different in an effort to keep pace early on...

I've gone Sagan & Degenkolb. Sagan's in for the next three stages.

Sagan said that he is training for worlds and will be working for Gatto in the sprints

He did, so I had a quick £1 E/W on Gatto at 200/1.

1,2,9,10,12 for me, waiting for Felline to come in. Hoping he rolls in last so I at least get 10 points in before I drop him.

There are 2 people in my team who I have decided I'm never picking again. Boonen and Koldo Fernandez.

Glad it was just bad luck for him. Normally, I have a principle with Guardini: never pick him, unless he's so cheap that taking a chance on him is pretty much like taking a usual chance on a 3 point rider. Today I broke that principle, and was prepared to take radical decisions about him like Joelsim above (by the way, Koldo is forever out for me since Basque Country earlier in the year).
