Ah, how can anyone ignore the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah with its fantastic scenery and all those WorldTour teams and all those climbs? Not me! 4 So, here we go. Another Forum competition in the Copa Orli series! 1 For those who can't live with only one race going on! 1

The Tour of Utah runs for 7 days. Stages 4 and 6 are the mountain stages and those are the only ones that will be scored in this competition. Yes, you read right, only Stages 4 and 6 will be scored in this competition.

The Tour starts tomorrow Monday Aug 4 and runs through Sunday Aug 10, 2014.

Here's the race profiles link:

http://www.tourofutah.com/stages/stage-4/
http://www.tourofutah.com/stages/stage-6/

Here's the start list on PCS:

http://www.procyclingstats.com/race/The_Larry_HMiller_Tour_of_Utah_2014-...

Here's the official Tour of Utah Twitter feed:
https://twitter.com/thetourofutah

The rules:

1. Pick 9 riders from the list below using the special rule.

Yes. There is a special rule, of course. How can there not be one? 4 And here it is. You must have 4 riders valued at 3.0 on your team. The other riders can be of any value you wish, of course. Keep in mind the stages that are being scored are the mountain stages of the Tour, Stages 4 and 6, only.

2. Enter your team before the start of Stage 4. Stage 4 starts at 11:10am local time Thursday August 7 (7:10 PM - 19:00 CET).

3. You will be allowed two transfers for Stage 6. The special rule will still apply to your team for Stage 6.

4. No person will be allowed to enter more than 1 team. That includes the organizer of the competition, of course. 4

Hope you like it. 4

Notes:
1. The budget is irrelevant in this competition, of course. You will still be expected to have 4 3.0 riders on your team. Any team that does not comply will, of course, be given the opportunity to change the team before the start of the competition. If any team does not seem particularly built for a mountain stage, that team will also be given the opportunity to change the team before the start of the competition.

2. The GC, PC and KOM jerseys will be honored and so will the Lanterne Rouge. If the Young Rider jersey is awarded, that classification will be honored, too. If there are any Sprint or KOM points along the way, these points will be awarded. If there are no Sprint points along the way those riders in the break of the day will receive 5 points for being in the break. More or less, that will apply to groups of riders that make a break stick and lasts either until the finish line or until the peloton catches the group that has been away for the majority of the race. If there's any confusion, the race organizer will determine what constitutes the 'break of the day' 4

3. If you want to use a rider not listed, let me know. In most cases if they are not listed they will probably be a 3.0 credit rider.

The riders

Stumpy, I removed Hofland from the start list in the OP just now because I don't think he's a suitable rider for Stages 4 and 6 in this competition... Would you mind choosing another rider more suited for the mountains just to make this more fun to score? Thanks...

Not playing myself. The tour of california was an annoyance and not indicative of a proper European competition, let alone this. Plus I would have to choose some of the biggest cockbadgers on the tour in order to be competitive, or people who align themselves with Hincapie

Good luck Wilco, Zoidl, Carter Jones and Tao Geohegan Hart

I have to admire your stance, but if you wanted to put together a team with these guys and without (!) the 'cockbadgers', just for fun and just picking the best of the rest, I'd love to score it for you... 4 Maybe all the 'cockbadgers' crash and burn (!) 4

Lets have a little go

Pro's:Evans,Kelderman,Busche,Horner,Voigt

Neo's:Gaimon,Carter Jones,Euser,Louder

Incidentally......will you be scoring the points earned for GC,KOM and Sprints competitions on stages four and six too?

e.g if Rider A sits 3rd on GC after stage 4 will he get the relevant 8pts even though he may only be there due to his performances on earlier stages?

I think there's muting paranoia disease going around... 1 But you're ok! 1 You're being read... The forum is acting up, though, requiring a 'Subject' and only offering a 'Preview' then forcing you to click through to finally submit your post...

I really (!) like the layout of this thing. The screenshots below are from there... Thanks! Well, it looks like Tanner Putt is likely a sprinter (!) 1 Of course, you can drop him if you want, before Thursday... Or wait and see if he picks up enough PC points to be worth keeping... Or if he might stay somewhere near the top of the YR classification to keep... You can see below which contenders are feeling strong so far based on their position in the 1st day sprint... I've also put up the PC and KOM standings... The YR jersey sits on top of Rick Zabel's shoulders right now...

Ok, I've got confirmed teams from TER, Joel, Him, Twy, Ray and Nick. Stumpy, you still have a few hours to make a change to your team if you want... northstar, never heard back from you... If anybody else wants to join the fun the stage starts in about 2 hours and 45 minutes at 19:00 CET. 1
