I had to make wholesale changes to get FroomeDog in.

Also decided to take a punt on Voeckler and Reichenbach, and put in Intxausti too.

Team is:

Contador
Voeckler
Reichenbach
Intxausti
Jungels
Spilak

Great finish!

1,2,4,7,9 for me I think, but loads of pens.

Just stage-hunting this week, I'm not taking things as seriously as I did last season when I was trying to get as high as I could overall. My philosophy is that if I'm doing well after two days then I'll take the race seriously, if not then I'll have a bit of fun, take some risks and not worry about my overall position.

Don't know where Spilak disappeared to...

Unbelievable ending to the stage!

Get in there Froome! And totally awesome to see Adam Yates up there in 8th.

Team did alright, but realised all through the final climb that Kelderman would have been a much better choice for both standard and purist teams than Nibali.

Another poor day. If you have a bad first stage it's impossible in a short race.

Agree entirely , hence I'm ignoring tomorrow taking penalties and looking for stages further in unless something miraculous happens with my team over the next two stages 7

Another disaster, lost interest, 40 penalty points for tomorrow

In come Meersman, Demare, Iglinsky, Kelderman, Duchense and JVDB for Taaramae, Spilak, Jungels, Larrson, TVG and Contador

Taking a 40 point hit for tomorrow; that should be it then (barring swapping out Demare and maybe one other) until we get back to the real hills.

Bit of a crapshoot with the various MM-ers, plus I fancy a breakaway wins on possibly two stages. So who knows? Made room for Chava, a choice I may regret.

I fancy Alaphilippe could do well tomorrow, but I haven't picked him. Hmm. 39

Not sure for tomorrow, think Demare may win from Nizzolo, but stage 4 has Meersman v Gerrans written all over it (providing both are in good enough form). Fancy Nava and Iglinsky to top 10 in both stages

Indeed, for a guy who's not in the race, Iglinsky seems to be very popular...
