Giro D'Italia Stage 2

I'm away out early so i thought i would start todays stage off before i went.

Does everyone agree its a bunch sprint finish or will someone try to grab the limelight with a breakaway.

Will Orica try to cut down any breaks for Matthews, do they have the team to do that ? only time will tell.

I doubt he will be looking at this but my sympathies go to Dan Martin 2

Also can someone explain why Matthews got 30 points and Hepburn 20 ? i thought all the team members scored the same in a TTT.

Good day for both of us yesterday. Went for Durbridge rather than Lancaster in the end.

Today I've got

Kitten
Viviani
Matthews
Swift
Ventoso
Ferrari
Appollonio
Petacchi
Durbridge

2 pens though for Ferrari and Appollonio, more for 3 and particularly 4 than today but thought I might as well do them early as they might get something today as well.

Who have you got?

Petacchi told CN this morning that he wouldn't contest the sprint but they're trying to keep Uran out of trouble for now. 14

Thought that might be the case but we'll see! Might swap him and someone else out for Bouhanni depending on what happens today. He punctured today but a long way from the finish. He's the one I don't have I'm a bit worried about.

Not too bad, Ferrari and Appollonio worth the pens, even though I would have preferred Viviani to do better. Might have to bring in Bouhanni tomorrow as I thought!

1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and points for Durbridge.

GOt my podium badge out of the way, but not many others in the sprint.

Petacchi... *shakes fist*

Pretty average for me - 1,2,4,7,8 maybe? I think I saw Dehaes and Hurel coming in around 13th/14th as well. Looks like it might be time to get rid of Petacchi...

Made a single change - Petacchi out 103

Got 167 on that stage (and three badges, including Full House) despite 30 penalty points. 36

I don't like the Most Combative Rider Award. Everything else in the race is based on a measurement, an order, who gets there first, etc.... This one? Well, it's judged. It's awarded. Not measured. It might as well be a beauty pageant award. I think it can be a pretty subjective thing... I propose we get rid of that award next season... [May 5, 2013]

Amazing... 39 I don't seem to have changed at all (!) in a year 39

Other than that, for whatever it's worth (next to nothing, I suppose), substitute Stage 2 of the 2014 Giro for Stage 1 of the 2013 Giro, substitute Wurf and Cavendish in 2013 for Tjallingi and Kittel today , and we have a situation with a 'corrupt' race jury that rewards the 'beauty' points of a magnificent sprint over the pure aggressiveness of a breakaway rider. How 'dare' they award the Combativity Award to Kittel after Tjallingi's heroic efforts? What an insult! 4
