The Wiggle French Revolution sportive is the most exciting and innovative sportive in 2014, without fail. Essentially it is a day trip to France and a Sportive in one. Starting at Dover ferry port we will arrange your ferry and parking (included). We will get you on the Ferry then welcome you with a croissant and coffee to get you really into the French spirit whilst we resister you and give you a safety briefing whilst we cross the channel in Luxury. 1.5hours later we will have docked in Calais and the riding begins.
There are two courses to choose from, Epic 75miles or Standard 59miles. Routes will explore the amazing North Coast and National Park offering superb traffic free cycling on an extremely well signposted course.
The route starts and finishes with a perfectly flat 7 miles as you head along the coast road to Sangatte. Then the course becomes a little hillier as you pass the stunning Mont d’Hubert and Cap Blanc Nez, steeped in History from WWII, with forts and bombing creators clearly visible on the cliff tops. As you pass over the Cliff top at Mont d’Hubert you will have unspoiled views of the English channel and the White Cliffs of Dover.
From here the route heads inland to the enchanting and breath taking National Park ‘Foret Domaniate de Guines’, which will offer the Epic riders a quality climb up Mont d’Licques. The route will join up again and head west back to the spectacular coast line. Now heading north back towards Calais you will pass Mont Duez, Mont de la Louve and pass Wissant before the last climb of the day at Mont d’Hubert.
You will then have a perfectly flat 7 miles run into the finish which will be at Calais Ferry port itself. A finishers’ medal will be given to you before you board the next ferry back to Dover with your sense of adventure and exploring spirit fulfilled. Food and showers will be available on the Ferry.
Note: Riders must have a valid EU passport and travel insurance. Sorry but no Under 16s for this ride.
The event is limited to 700 riders and sold out in 1 week in 2013, book early to avoid disappointment!

7 October was just a bit of harmless fun until the "msm" ramped it up.

Been available for quite a while, full GRX mechanical 12 speed. Probably around the same time as 105 mechanical 12 speed if I were to guess.
Less harmful citrus degreaser is easy to find at £8 or less for 5 litres. Works ok for me, even diluted up to 4:1. Both paraffin and white spirit...
Nope, it's to keep your straps down and quieter. Plus most sunglasses are polycarbonate and aren't going to shatter like glass anyway
And, more seriously, where's the coverage of the closure of the cycle lane which forces you to cycle on the Totton bypass.
