Following a successful ride in May of this year, ride organiser Roger Maddams has decided to do it all again next year.
Tour de Kent 14 will follow the same format as 2013's ride with only some minor changes. The ride will start on Saturday May 25th at Gillingham Football Club's Priestfiled Stadium and finish in the same place on bank holiday Monday 26th May.
The ride will follow a slightly altered route taking cyclist to the Kent County Cricket Ground. Overnight stays in Canterbury and Maidstone are planned for 2014, spreading the 200 miles across three days.
The ride will be in aid of the same charities as last year those being C-R-Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and Gillingham FC Take Heart Mercy Mission.
The Tour de Kent is a fun, inclusive event open to anyone to link in with the “feel good factor” surrounding British cycling in recent years.
Options for participants range from a 15 mile ride on the May 24, with the cost of entrance at £20; a 50 mile route, on the same day priced at £30 and 'The Lot', which includes the full weekend and 200 miles of riding which which comes to £100.
