The Moor 2 Sea Sportive offers you a choice of three routes, the 'Inspire' (60 km / 37 miles), 'Challenge' (104 km / 65 miles), and the 'Extreme' (108 km / 112 miles). All routes start and finish at Exeter Racecourse in South Devon.
The 'Inspire' route is a new addition to the Moor 2 Sea. The course has been designed as a more achievable goal for those new to Sportive Cycling & Endurance events. It has a respectable 3000 ft of climb, including a 16% final ascent from the Teign Valley up to the Haldon Belvedere. There is one feed zone at 35 km (22 miles).
The 'Challenge' route is 104 km (65 miles) with a demanding 6,600 ft of climb, whilst the 'Extreme' route takes in a gruelling 180 km (112 miles) with over 11,000 ft of climb, including gradients up to 25%. A true test for any endurance athlete. The 'Challenge includes two feed zones (34 km & 65 km) and the 'Extreme' has four plus a drink station (35 km, 65 km, 86 km (Drink), 122 km, and 143 km).
Both the 'Challenge and 'Extreme' routes are to retain their notorious 'King of the Mountains' timed hill stage, which will relocate to the legendary Haytor climb where John Tiernan Locke secured his KoM victory in the 2011 Tour of Britain and where the Devon stage of this year's tour will conclude a couple of weeks later on September 20th.
Full details of the routes and further information about this event can be found on our website www.moor2sea.com
The event is limited to 1000 places so if you want to take part in the Moor 2 Sea, early booking is strongly recommended.
