St Barnabas Grimsthorpe Challenge
Sunday 30th June 2013 sees the first St Barnabas Grimsthorpe Challenge hit the roads of Lincolnshire, Rutland and Leicestershire.
Start and finish in front of the impressive 16th century Grimsthorpe Castle in south Lincolnshire, with the first 5 miles of all routes on a traffic-free tarmac trail through the historic grounds and woodlands of the Grimsthorpe Estate.
After that the on-road routes are not much busier as you leave the south of the Estate onto the quiet lanes of South Lincolnshire before turning west to head for the more challenging Rutland and Leicestershire roads.
There are three routes to choose from, 108 miles, 82 miles and 58 miles, with the longest route also being hillier
.
There are three feeds on the longest route, two on the medium route and one on the shortest. Post event food will be provided as part of the entry fee. Breakfast, tea and coffee prior to the ride can be purchased on the day.
