Cycle 4 Heroes Bike Ride
This cycle challenge in support of Help for Heroes sets out from the Royal Engineers Museum in Gillingham and offers a good day in the saddle for serious and recreation cyclists alike. With a choice of two distances there is something for all the family to get involved in.

It's not just a Bike Ride; it's much more!
The bike ride has been organised to coincide with Armed Forces Day; a national day of celebration for our Armed Forces. As well as the bike there is a large scale event taking place just a short walk from our start/finish venue. Bring family, bring friends and whilst you ride, they can enjoy the spectacle that is Armed Forces Day. Click on the icon to find out more about Armed Forces Day.

Choice of Two Rides
The Sportive Challenge is ideal for the seasoned cyclists as well as those that have not been riding for too but are confident on the road. At 56 miles it's a good half century bike ride that has all the features you would expect of the Kent countryside. The Family Ride is great fun, for all the family! At 10 miles it is a pleasant way to spend the afternoon exploring the cycle tracks in the Medway area. The route has been designed to keep away from the road as much as possible.

The Sportive Challenge
Heading out along the roads that run alongside the River Medway participants will quickly find themselves in Kent countryside with orchards and swaths of pasture that present a colourful landscape. The terrain offers up some teasing climbs with sweeping descents as riders crank out the miles through the quiet lanes. Highlights include the pretty villages of Hartlip, Borden, the quaint house of Boughton-under-Blean and Faversham which boasts the oldest brewery in the country.

The Family Ride
With safety in mind the route that we've designed is a tale of two halves. Firstly the route will follow Cycle Track 1 alongside the River Medway and will take in The Strand, Sharps Green and The Riverside Countryside Park. It then heads towards Rainham before turning back towards Gillingham on an assortment of cycle tracks and paths.

Have Fun!
We want you to enjoy this event; revel in the challenge and bring along your friends and family. The event is being organised in support of Help for Heroes and all proceeds after expenses will be donated to the charity.
