Drawing on more than a century of creating performance bikes and working with colleagues in their USA division Raleigh have spent over 2 years of design and testing to develop the Raleigh HM2 TEAM frame. Hence every curve has a purpose. Every line has a reason. Every process has been calculated. Every detail has been scrutinised to create the lightest, stiffest, most capable Raleigh frame in history.
Thoroughly examining the competition and analysing their own strict procedures has led to the development of a completely unique moulding process that produces a frame 10% lighter and 20% stiffer than their previous carbon design. This has allowed Raleigh to integrate the cable stops and the dropouts into the mould, creating a truly unified frame. By utilising the same HM2 technology in their exclusive tapered fork Raleigh have established a new benchmark in stiffness and control.
With all this attention put into a bike it’s easy to see the one detail behind everything they make: Raleigh's passion for cycling.
The SP Team features a mix of external/internal cable routing, double water cage mounts and a BB30 bottom bracket (adapters supplied). The frame is full carbon which means an incredible light frame yet very stiff and is extremely comfortable to ride. The head tube is also tapered (1 1/8 - 1 1/2) and gives you great control at the front end.
The SP Team is fully equipped with Shimano's Dura Ace (DA) groupset and includes a double chainset with 53/39 chainrings being fitted. The shifting action of DA is second to none - precise, and quick gear changes are standard and coupled with the DA chainset, chain movement is swift and quiet.
Each bike comes supplied with a pair of Shimano's RS80 C24 clincher wheels and are fitted with Michelin Pro3 Race tyres. This combination provides great straight line speed and sharp performance as well as being robust and very durable.
