Not Bad For A Tuesday
It's a sunny 30+ degrees, I'm on a De Rosa Idol, in the Romagna hills above Riccione courtesy of the Hotel Belvedere and on the first 5km climb out of the town my Partner In Climb has been found. Nice shaved walnut-brown long pistons.
La dolce vita, as they probably never actually say in Italy.
A quick 75kms (it's all fake miles out here) coaxing the life out of legs stymied by two days of planes and trains and buses and walking, lots of walking, with heavy bags, round the less picture-postcard bits of Milan, and a bike show. Resuscitating steady perfect black tarmac climbs, down variably surfaced descents, made funnerer by brakes The Wrong Way Round, a brief stop for a perfect espresso and finally the uncooked-spaghetti straight road along the Adriatic beachfront that definitely deserved a sprint finish.
Not bad for a Tuesday.
