Commuter Diaries - Dark side riding, mixing it up!

What a ride home tonight, lashing rain, bonks, hunger and a plastered bike, now that’s what commuting is all about!

With the unusual spate of good weather I have been riding home along the MTB trail which runs parallel to the road. Riding off road really hones your bike handling skills for dodging traffic.

It’s great to have some variety in my riding and really mix up my commute.

Is there anything better than the quintessentially English picture of a bike and rape seed backdrop at this time of year? The rape seed fields are a riot of colour.

I have been riding my new Transition TransAM, made of Japanese 4130 chromoly, which is both responsive and forgiving. Transition also have a cool, road, fixie, ss and street brand called Traitor; check them out at www.traitorcycles.com
