Verging On The Odd

Avatar

Strange things seen on a ride.

#1 - Lingertree

Jo Burt has spent the majority of his life riding bikes, drawing bikes and writing about bikes. When he's not scribbling pictures for the whole gamut of cycling media he writes words about them for road.cc and when he's not doing either of those he's pedaling. Then in whatever spare minutes there are in between he's agonizing over getting his socks, cycling cap and bar-tape to coordinate just so. And is quietly disappointed that yours don't He rides and races road bikes a bit, cyclo-cross bikes a lot and mountainbikes a fair bit too. Would rather be up a mountain.

I can say with some authority on the matter, that a collection of them is definitely a 'flap' of knickers.

Some of those are a little too, erm......, stiff to do much flapping

But is that a "spread" of tights there?

I thought not.

...I saw a gaggle (maybe a herd?) of Emus and the obligatory fleet of Llama on my ride today (you may notice collective nouns is not my forte), but the lingertree is quite special.

Next time it happens you can point with authority and say "Look, a mob of Emus!!", and it's a herd of Llamas should you care to know, although it's a flock of Alpaca (the two members of the camelid family are easily confused from a distance at 18mph), and it's a flock of Camels too, which I saw on the Quantocks once.
