Time to go home....

Avatar

First day back on the bike after a week due to illness. I am usually reasonably healthy but an evening spent with a couple of mates with youung children may have been my undoing. I drove into work yesterday as I was not fully recovered - how do people cope with all the traffic every day?

Anyway, today was cold and a little foggy as I set off for the office. As I went over a foot/cycle bridge into the city looking at the inner ring road below seeing the cars below it was a good feeling, a little smile inside.

I cruised steadily along in no rush to get to work. The steady pull up St Peters Street left me out of breath without even trying, sure I will be flying again by the weekend. Ever optimistic.

Another day at the coal face with everybody talking about pensions as our company have just announced major changes.

And finally time to go home returning to the bike for the short journey home.

The 'rat is a bit of a dogs breakfast. Its a 105 triple as I did a bivvy trip lasy year up some big hills and never got round to putting double back on). Being flat barred it has some XT shifters and avid v brakes as it was what Sideways Cycles had in cheapish. Seconh hand Easton Vista SL wheels, some cx tyres on some stronger wheels and a brooks saddle and carradice saddlebag. Great for winter miles and commuting.

As Mr Atkinson says they are indeed time atac pedals bought cheap in a sale. A bit more practical for wandering between bike shed / shower / office than roadie cleats.

Dogs breakfast or not it looks good - what's the frame? And speaking of your 105 triple that reminds me that i need to put my Truvativ triple back on and get the 105 double off, give me a triple any day for commuting or lugging loads, or indeed riding up hills.

Out of interest what's the all up weight?

should be a dog's breakfast, i reckon! more fun that way...

Mine's a Schwinn Moab MTB frame with Pace RC31 forks, SpeedCitys and Shimano mech discs. And plastic flat pedals 1

Hey Blackhound,

Nice steed. I also don't know how people commute by car every day, perhaps they've never tasted the sweet air, nature and sounds that make up a typical bike ride

Agur,

Talk us through it, looks like you've got some interesting bits on there - what are those pedals?
