OPINION

Commuter diaries - it's the lanes of North Bristol for me.

Avatar

26 miles, rolling out along the Avon Gorge beneath the Clifton Suspension Bridge. I have been toying with the idea of riding to the old Severn crossing via Avonmouth and the estuary cyclepath for my charity ride: but today I have decided against it. So much traffic and the scenery is mostly urban and industrial until you actual get to the Severn. So it's Siston, Pucklechurch and Olveston for me. Country lanes and less traffic. Why is it whenever I ride in Bristol I always see disturbing, different or damn right strange things. Today this included Police chasing youths in Shirehampton and a Cyclist with facial injuries (cause unknown) being attended to by paramedics. Then it occurred to me neither of these things are unique in the modern city. Mental note...........commute in the city, ride for leisure in the country.

Off for an MTB ride along the Avon now, let's see what I bump into.
