Hidden Di2 cables - lovely.

Red graphics on the wheels picked up by red touches on the frame, stem and a teeny Italian flag on the chainstay - an elegant touch.

Blending the very on-trend white with the traditional Bianchi celeste - aesthetically considered.

Not noticing that the front mech has been accidentally shifted out of the big ring so when there was the presence of mind to rotate the cranks back a bit so the pedals were in "just the right place" for the photo the chain was forced to wrap too far round the chainring and kink awkwardly towards the rear - shoddy.

Shimano on an Italian frame - criminal.

Jo Burt has spent the majority of his life riding bikes, drawing bikes and writing about bikes. When he's not scribbling pictures for the whole gamut of cycling media he writes words about them for road.cc and when he's not doing either of those he's pedaling. Then in whatever spare minutes there are in between he's agonizing over getting his socks, cycling cap and bar-tape to coordinate just so. And is quietly disappointed that yours don't He rides and races road bikes a bit, cyclo-cross bikes a lot and mountainbikes a fair bit too. Would rather be up a mountain.

Whoever put this spec together needs shooting,it looks bloody awful. I won't be popping into Evans anytime soon to snap one up. Saying that you'd have to push your way past all the un-sold BMC bikes to find one.

Although it's certainly possible to argue with the use of the apostrophe 3

Uh-oh. I have Shimano on an Italian* frame.

*Italian marque but from end of range outsourced to Taiwan - does that give me a loophole?
