Christ that chainset is even uglier than the last one which was foul.
If you aint spinning out in 53/11 you aint trying hard enough.
I got fitted at http://www.stephenjamescycles.co.uk/bike-fitting/
Very professional and with the obligatory footbeds, spacers and a new shorter stem came to about 200 notes.
Still not sure if it was worth it though its certainly an intensive 90 minutes - albeit with the biggest change beings my saddle being raised by 2cms!
I view it that at least now if I get any knee problems then it wont be for want of being too much of tightwad to get a proper fitting.
1400 odd meters? Not sure what you are riding but it wasn't huez!
Start is roughly 850meters
Finish above huez is about 1860meters
Altitude comes into it as for riding it on a 25 not unless ur a racing snake or super fit, as for an hour to do it , the quickest amateur time I saw last year was 51 minutes and that was a 16 yr old tri-athlete , most of the avg cyclist times were around 80 mins plus
11 tooth is for those compacts amongst us. in which case it makes a lot of sense. and i for one would love that missing 18 so bring on the 11 cogs. put this is on my wish list already. now i just need someone to pay for my wish list.
Yes Andy, seriously. Why not just make sick people and accident casualties pay for Hospitals? After all they're the ones getting the benefit.
+1 (though frankly tragic that it needs to be pointed out)
'In the long run this is a sad day for Spain.'
Spain and, unfortunately, cycling. Let's just keep on pretending it's just our sport that has a problem, hey.
'Bad choice as I'm a student'
Do you not want an education, or something? Bizarre. It isn't going to cost you much in the long run. If you're not interested in the teaching side of things, you could always drop out, and just recreate the getting pissed and scratching your arse all day bit elsewhere? Or, look into Moocs.
'Why not?'
er..seriously? People want universities, but they don't want them to be funded.
We want something that costs money, but we won't spend any money on it.
Aye, that'll be right.
I wish i could ride fast enough for someone to want to draught* me.
*is it draft or draught? I dont mean to be pedantic but i think its draught
OH MY GOODNESS!
Looks a bit odd though - like a smoother prototype, will prolly get used to it. Maybe. Still would not mind
No hydraulic disc brakes = No rush to upgrade
Like others, might as well snap up some 6700 bargains.
10 cogs do me fine
Oh and as for not keeping promises - surely if its a pledge it must be kept. It was the only reason Lib Dems got in in the first place. They told a bare face lie to the student voting population. I'm going to go into politics and make promises that aren't going to be kept. Every household can have £500. PER PERSON!!
As for the road surfaces I think they should have some tarmac-y people ride around the roads on bikes (preferably boneshakers) and then they will be quickly making changes to the road layouts/surfacing (It will also be cheaper than having them drive round in the great big vans)
This looks lovely, esp the lever ergonomics. But what is this new obsession with cassettes with 11 tooth cogs? A 50x11 is a massive gear (bigger than 53x12, which if memory serves was std issue for the pros for many years). To push a 53x11 gear requires thighs like Chris Hoy or Alpine style inclines - neither of which I have. So, for most riders, most of the time, this is effectively a 10spd group, unless you only ride the 12-25 option. That's not really progress in my book - I'll be sticking with 10 SPD thanks where I at least have some cassettes to choose from.
(Sits back and waits for howls of rage / indignation from muscular road.cc riders
)
They are going on the good wife's bike.
The lib dems came round t'other day. Bad choice as I'm a student, poor lib dem councilor hopefuls only response was "I can see why you'd be annoyed". Can't even defend themselves, will anyone ever vote for them again? Lab seem like they want to do the most as far as roads are concerned but not a fan of labor. I like hearing Miliband slag of the torries but curious to see if he would be reversing the 'damage' they have done if they get in power...
All the same as each other really at the end of the day.
Sorry bit of a rant not related to cycling at all
This should keep you busy for an hour or two; http://www.lfgss.com/thread12358.html
Just make sure that cable guides for a back brake are removable and it meets the requirements of whatever track you want to use it at. This is the bike spec for Manchester and i believe Glasgow have used the same presumably the Olympic velodrome is the same too http://www2.nationalcyclingcentre.com/documents/Track%20bike%20specifica...
squiggle,
yup, I can understand that. Anything other than a very short visit would probably induce a panic attack.
Why not?
I've just got a pair of Hope Hoops - Mavic Open Pro on Hope Pro III hubs - very happy with them. Hand built (although most 'factory built' wheels are handbuilt unless they're on very low end bikes). Roll well, the rim and spokes are easily replaced should any mis haps occur and Hope have very good customer service.
Should get them for a wee bit over £300, include rim strips and spare spokes but not skewers.
I was actually planning on building my own with Pro III's and H+Son TB14 rims but left it too late and needed them for a holiday - the major advantage of that would have been i could have chosen silver hubs, rims and spokes instead of black.
'As much as i like Bradley i really would like to see Froome destroy him in the TdF.
'
the same, but the other way round. Just to prove that Froome had no chance last year, orders or no.
I locked my race bike to a lamppost outside ASDA for 10 minutes once. I got away with it but I was crapping myself the whole time I was away from her!
Oh for sure. Take that as a given. 25, 50 and 75 all easy to plan.
Lots of medals, tour de France winner,he look good in a suit, now sir Wiggo , but from Italy,,,,,nothing,,,,,,yet.
As a new sportive, you would be wise to put on more than one route. Yes this might be a pain, but it will attract more people. If you look at most sportive's these days, The have at least two, normally three routes.
You will always get the people who want to push themselves round a massive course, but you will always get more looking to do a nice leisurely ride with friends and other like minded people.
