    'National Cycle Network' It's crap.

All they do is place some tiny signs at the junctions of some roads and they can't even do that well. It is really hard to follow, there are times when you get to a junction and stop and scratch your head and have to take a guess as which way to go.

The signs are little bigger than a smart phone so you can't see them from a distance after they've weathered a little.

National Cycle network sticker Can you spot the NCN route sticker? You're supposed to go left here.. probably.

Parts of it are completely unfit for cycling unless you are riding a mtb with the fattest tyres.

It's outright moronic with completely different routes having the same number.

    National Cycle network, Cyclists dismount
This is an English NCN, please get off your bike... Being the North Sea Cycle Route, I'm guessing this means you'll have to swim at some point.

  • Video: Google’s self-driving car meets cyclists and out-performs far too many human drivers1 year 17 weeks agoSure, your dystopian vision

Sure, your dystopian vision is frghtening but there is a different possible future - far fewer motor vehicles on our roads. It's been argued, by Google and others, that driverless cars will spell an end to private car ownership and public bus services. Instead, there will be fleets of robo-taxis, working 24/7, carrying passengers from point to point and fully networked to maximise journey sharing. If that utopian vision was to happen, I reckon it's at least 20 years away.
And cyclists would certainly miss the cheery banter of taxi drivers. Wink

Personally I'm not a fan of the Slime filled inner tubes. The "gloop" is meant to ooze out of any holes, coagulating as it does so, and stopping the leak. Unfortunately it also does the same to the valves - so I ended up with valves that I couldn't undo without a pair of pliers, and then couldn't force any more air in!
I'm sure some people think they're great - but I'll stick to my Gatorskin Hard Shells.

Are you sure? I didn't think you could change the release tension on a Keo blade without changing the carbon "blade", which is why they sell them in 12nm and 16nm versions?

My blades got very noisy a couple of months ago. (Through trial and error I narrowed noise down to pedla - initially I thought it was BB.) Removed cleat from shoe and then threw away the little rubber bumper in the middle of the cleat. No noise.

I really feel sorry for the lad. He's clearly quite ill and I don't think anyone can help him. If pumping dead, old, rotten blood into your body causing yourself to have a kidney failure and developing septicemia isn't enough of a wake up call then I don't know what the hell would be.

His missus, Vania Rossi, has also tested positive for EPO so christ only knows what his home life is like.

I can't see this ending well at all, my gut feeling it that he is going to end up killing himself.

Hiya - thanks for posting GKam - this is my bike and yep, I'm selling.

It's not quite ready yet as when I have a week off racing I need to replace it's BB and cassette.

It's on the Isle of Man at the moment so I'm not sure how much it'd be to post, I'm looking for £900 plus postage, with a shipping comp I'd imagine this'll be somewhere between £30-£50.

    It's a 52 by the way Smile

I'm running a shimano crank on a Caad10 using a praxis conversion bb (http://praxiscycles.com/conversion-bb/). They have the rep for being the best solution mechanically as they don't concentrate all the pedalling input on a small adaptor (though mine is creaking a little). Were it my build I'd save a bit on stem/bars and put it toward slightly better wheels, but looks good - Caad10s are ace.
