But they're all much of a muchness these days, unless you want Brooks cork tape or something. The Bike Ribbon tape is good value. One thing that does make a difference is those gel insert things you can get that go on the flats, can't remember what they're called though.
I was thinking about getting some, and was probably going to be a bit female about the whole thing and get one that looked nice.... Any reccommendations re: brands?
I was a tad worried that the camera battery was going to give out + we were really rushing it was just before dinner and this was the very last interview of the weekend + it was only the fourth video interview I've ever done - you'll get to see the first three in the next few days

Luckily Carlos Sastre is a top fella
Great interview. You looked a smidge nervous at the start but then I would be scared witless coming face to face with a tour winner.
What's your page? you can find me at www.twitter.com/jimmythecuckoo
Yes, that is one ugly kit, even worse than the rubbish plaid effort from Garmin Chippotle (if you're going to do plaid do it properly - like this lot), sorry I digress… anyway the new Columbia kit looks like a skeleton wearing a tabard to me. Even Saunier Duvall managed to come up with a better yellow outfit than that…
Maybe that's the price Columbia are willing to pay for a rigorous drugs-free policy, they obviously don't even let the creatives have the necessary mind-expanding substances so vital to the job of designing cycling team kit. The bloke doing the Columbia kit was probably having some bad trip acid flashback, or whatever you get when you suddenly come off the hallucinogens unexpectedly.
There's a silver 11.5 one on ebay - apparently other sizes available - Seller is 'carltoncycles' cost is 49 quid
I've hardly been out on my wheel for a few weeks now, us smaller rodents don't get on that well with ice, snow and the like, by rights I should be hibernating…
Anyway I reckon we should start some sort of metric century challenge, but for weight loss… I could do with dropping a kilo or so (yeah, I'm a very 'big-boned' hamster).
But maybe somewhere he can tell the inside inside story of life on the team.

Not very original and not a great deal of content..

You could go really Hi-Tech and follow my Twittering...
Looking for information? Have a look at the BLT site.
They stamp their name over S-Sun and add a cool percentage on top.. But their website works.
The blurb says it should last for 3hr 'high' or 12hr 'low' running 4 standard AAs..
VERY very bright and equally expensive.

I'm sure someone could DIY one for much less, given a 3w Luxeon is only around £6.
Dave, there is nothing you can do to make that song any more prominent in my mind...
I think it has been lodged in there for about 5 years now! It all started when a colleauge of mine used to commute everyday from Coventry to Reading and back, so spent many hours in his car. I sung that song after seeing it on the original ad at the time; the following day he was livid, he had spent the entire trip with that going round in his head.
From then on I organised all the office to wait until he was just walking out of the door, at which point we would all burst into a rousing chorus of "I love horses" just so he had something to sing on the trip home...he loved it!
It has since backfired, as it has become the backing track to my life.
Cinelli 1R stems always creaked and then seized so you couldn't undo the handlebar clamp due to the "hidden" design. I had a succession of these due to their aesthetic allure but eventually gave up as I couldn't stand the noise.

a work of sublime genius
the best of all the animals! i love horses! they're my friends!
that should set you up for the day
and only discovered this about 60 miles into the ride, the last 15 miles were riden to the beat of pleasenopunctures....pleasenopunctures...still it took my mind off the "I love horses" song from the advert some years ago that seems to haunt me when I have nothing better going on in my brain!
I've got a Cinelli 1A quill stem that is not being used if that is any use to you, I forget the length, but will check it out at lunch if you are interested.

Hey, that sounds interesting - how would the boys on the mighty Plus take it though?
I would be happy to contribute a blog, from my pserspective as a sportive rider, and member of Team Cycling Plus.
It was good - I asked Carlos your Tour patron question - apparently it's going to be him
The whole thing was very interesting: Cervelo and the rest of the sponsors involved really mean it when they say they want rider feedback on their products so that they can develop them accordingly - I suppose the only worry might be that what's good for a pro might not be so good for the rest of us.
Haven't forgotten about user blogs either.
