That (and I suppose the fact the race will finish in Madrid) is the one thing that's absolutely nailed on.
Maybe ITV could weave a sub-plot into its Benidorm series?
http://www.itv.com/benidorm/
My first bike was a single speed (ooh, how trendy!) with solid rubber tyres and a front brake only. I could belt along the pavement, jam on the brake, and the rear wheel would lift excitingly into the air.
Home Taping Is Killing Music you know.
An otherwise beautiful elegy on the bar-tape-ista's art. I'm left feeling inadequate by the steadily accumulating pile of VecchioJo's offcuts. I'm always just a wind short, maybe my bars are too big?
i like!
Nice write up
Whoop whoop... Alpe de Huez here I come!
Entry booked! Now, sort out training, decent bike, accommodation, transfers, placating my g/f...
Can't wait-moderately scared as I've never done a sportive in my life but a good target for next year and will help discipline me over winter. Shame it's changed format as somehow I don't get the feeling people 'count' such a short course as living up to previous Etapes but its enough of a challenge for me!
Yes it was. If I'd thought about it I could have taken a few pics, etc and sent them to you. Sorry.
that's from last year's rules but i'm assuming it's the same this time around
None of us went, we did ask them for info about it though. I do know someone who did go though and who says it's pretty awesome.
Thanks Dave
Any idea how I go about getting the licence?
Thanks again
duh. federation francaise de cyclisme: http://ffc.fr
EDT is etape du tour, natch
UFOLEP is a french sporting organisation: http://www.ufolep.org
not sure about FFC - any takers there?
TT in Benidorm are they sure?
Fixie Girl, what are you talking about? I paid VAT on my jersey. It's shown on the invoice. Bloody good jersey it is too.
Do they need to or is that you would like them to?
IMHO they should merely decide how to market their products - either through sponsoring events or a team or by some other means.
For me the products should succeed or fail on their own merits, I don't buy into Rapha's style of marketing, though I'm happy enough if that is favoured by other people. There is room for a variety of approaches as well as brands in this market sector.
"He is also seeking more than $15,000 in damages from the bereaved parents, alleging that he has suffered 'great mental and emotional pain and suffering' and has lost his 'capacity to carry on in life's activities,' and is also claiming wrongful arrest and imprisonment."
Rereading this section convinced me that the US courts will throw his case out. His charges include exceeding the speed limit excessively and also drinking and driving. He is deluded and believes everything is someone else's fault.
I often keep Firefox open all day with a load of tabs so it could look like I'm here all day long (though I pop back more than I probably should).
Being able to see my posting history would help, as they do at STW - it would remind me to easily see further posts on stories or forum discussions I contributed to.
Cool, I thought I had broken it
I think it would be awesome.
It's the classic Tradebrands vs Branded product arguement that seems to be the rage at the moment.
Torm need to establish and then add value back in their brand by advertising and promoting.
"I'd be stupidly proud to see a race won on tape I'd applied."
Lovely image
i like it.
I've got to admit, the quote in brackets is the exact slogan being used by me in my campaign for cycling the world and the charity i'm on starting and has been since dec 2009. And i find that to be true, they wouldn't be anywhere without that link.
I have been bestowed with the duty of applying some Brooks leather tape to my friends handlebars. This is the equivalent of being asked to be a best man or a god parent.
