The weather is going to be wet, so I hope there will be a lot of action. Boonen/ Quick Step has always had some bad luck in previous campaigns, thats why I didnt put him in my (purist) team.
My remaining team since Cancellaras fall:

    Ballan (very pleased with him)

Oss (strong at Wevelgem, disappointing at Flanders but ahould be in contention now as a lone leader without Sagan and a parcour that suits him)

Boasson Hagen (good display at Wevelgem, strong at Flanders too but with a lot of bad luck, Roubaix should suit him especially if its getting wet)

Hayman (domestique at Wevelgem, many attacks at the early stages of Flanders, then domestique, hopefully hes up to it at Roubaix, the race that suits him best)

Vansummeren (solide showings so far, now team leader for Roubaix)

Vanmarcke (wasnt able to deal with the long distance at Flanders but I think hes among the contenders for Roubaix tho)

Trentin (prospect, has to work for Boonen, maybe 5 points again)

Morkov (thought he has the abilities to be Saxos best cobbles rider, in good pre-race shape, but proved me wrong so far)

The Volagi bike didn't come off because of the postage, I "wasn't a suitable character to be entering America" when i tried to get travel documents and it was going to cost as much as the bike even with heavy discount to get it here.

The Keith bike is even worse though after getting a quote from them, $190,000 Taiwan dollars with is just over £4000, that was for a wheelset, frame and handle bars, so without a groupset. As much as i love the look of the Shadow bike and i'd like to be riding a bike splashed in my name, at this point in time, i'm not spending that much on a bike Crying

Ah yes, but in this case of our name we're referring to anyone who rides on the road whatever type of bike they ride - from commuting to competing and all points in between and around indeed. One of the things we're aiming to do this year is get more touring in.

That said, while my default setting is to nod an acknowledgement or smile - I don't always, usually cos I'm lost in thought and sometimes cos I'm getting the thousand yard roadie stare from the rider coming the other way and I don't think there's any point.

  • Björn Leukemans out of Paris-Roubaix1 year 35 weeks agoI agree with Mogwai on this.

I agree with Mogwai on this. I was 'forced' to make transfers early this week as I wasn't sure how good the wi-fi access would be at the Premiere Classe we're staying at this weekend (we just happen to be in France for the race Smile and so I didn't want to take that risk before leaving home! Anyway, turns out the access ain't too bad here but of course now I have an injured rider in my team! At least I do have 1 free transfer left so can make this change but I think the rule isn't the best! It would probably be better if you could at least pick 2 or 3 reserves for each stage/race or something like that and one of them was automatically put into your team if 1 of your 9 riders doesn't start!

  • Björn Leukemans out of Paris-Roubaix1 year 35 weeks agoDon't feel like using the

Don't feel like using the quotes so @enrique I believe TER is correct even though everyone has their own opinion. Should we get transfers for greyed out riders? Simple, no. I like the fact that people who actually do their research are rewarded, that way it takes more luck, skill, and smarts to win/do well in the game. People who don't? Your problem. It isn't like you couldn't spend 2 seconds of your day to look up the provisional start list of the next comp is it? So if you didn't it's your fault. A whole lot of teams had Canc on their team and instead of asking for another transfer they either used one to sub him out and have 3 transfers left, or they decided to make four changes and take the 20 penalty points. They were fine you should be too. You think it isn't fair? How so? Everbody gets the same amount of tranfers, same amount of time, same amount of riders, same restrictions. So how is that not fair? Unlimited transfers? Yeah, they might be nice but, wouldn't that be too easy. Besides, like I (and many others) have said, I like being rewarded for actually planning ahead. Why should you wait to the last minute? So, you don't swear and whine on the forums like now. I know I might sound rude but, seriously? It is a free game and quite good one at that. Dave and Co. work hard to improve it is better every year. If you don't like it either A. Stop playing and find something better to do or B. Enjoy the game, shut your yap, and suggest we do something different at the end of the year on the forum that ASKS you what you think. You might disagree but look at it this way, if we were to change it so two people liked it 50 people would hate it, including myself. Then there would be more requests for things that you didn't agree with but by more people. Then the game wouldn't be any fun, which is what the purpose of this game is, isn't it?

Why not? I don't think the amount of transfers should be what matters. I think we should look at it as how many riders you end up swapping out from your last team.

    TERatcliffe26 wrote:
So why should i be penalized then, beacuse one of your riders injured? you would get 5 transfers to my 4, but what if I wanted to make 5 transfers.

You're not getting pemalized. It should be a rule:

I just think it's fair, for everyone to have a level playing field, and to make the game fair to those who have other things to do, that there be unlimited transfers during the Classics... There's so many dropouts!

    I've said it before:
