Having re-read the post, I should have said I'm not a member of a club just a group of friends who ride together 'regularly'.
If you want a club in the Leeds/Bradford area, then I'm pretty sure that you search local clubs via the British Cycling website.
Hi i am bradord based, free sunday mornings and some evenings
You can't fit mudguards on a Kona Dew Drop (which I assume is a requirement for an audax style bike).
Didn't you used to own just such a vehicle?
How about a Kona Dew Drop?
pro: virtual holiday in France
con: trying in vain to evade Armstrong
Got caught in that storm up Galibier. Tough tough day. Alread planing for next time.
Ribble tend to score very well on value and quality. They had a bit of a problem with people's credit card details getting compromised after buying online, but the last I heard about that was in February so I don't think there are any problems now.
The Audax with Veloce looks like good value for money, you get Aksium wheels and some decent finishing kit thrown in for your £750. There's plenty of other bikes out there for that kind of money. Giant's Defy 2 is about £750 and will take full guards, in fact we've got one in right now with that spec. Ridgeback's Horizon is £700 with Sora and 'guards.
Good effort David, good response afterwards too.
Wow!
All the meaningful evidence on the subject seems to suggest that there is a great deal of doubt as to whether helmets are "in the safety interests of its members" hence the CTC's position
Nicely summed up post. Thank you.
Cav's jersey is getting a little tight.
Chapeau, David. Great ride. Just a couple more stacks in the bunch and it would have been yours
millar, auge and chavanel in the break... ch ching!
Interesting that the CTC would campaign against the use of something which is undoubtedly in the safety interests of its members. In the past they have gone on strike, or threatened to do so, over any number of things which contribute to the overall safety of its members. Perhaps they're just peeved they didn't get to use the helmet issue for wage negotiation leverage. Makes you wonder whose interests they're really supporting.
On the other hand, it would seem somewhat brutal to sack the offenders without a warning. Or were they warned?
oooh yeah. lock up those inconsiderate cyclists! that's *definitely* a crime on the same level as mowing down innocent bystanders with two tons of metal because you're so impatient and selfish you can't even leave your phone alone as you drive the hundred yards to the shops to buy your pie and fags.
heh. i'm not having a go, just think it's a great pic and he shows a very good understanding of the game for one so young...
if it's light skewers you want, you need to try these guys:

21g!!!
I love the suggestion by Driver.cyclist that there should be severe penalties for cyclist riding two-abreast on country roads.
This is just a demonstration of the usual impatience of the car driver, not prepared to wait 10 seconds to find a safe place to pass a cyclist, they beleive that they should be able to just blow by you un-impeded as they are after all a car.
It is his job after all is said and done...
I can afford to worship the purity of the cycling experience, as it is my escape from the corporate world. When it is your day job, you can't afford to have the same feelings, after all this is what puts food on his table.
As a package (with those wheels and Dura Ace) i think it looks the bomb. the only thing that would spoil it is me sitting on it
it takes different strokes and all that... that pegoretti looks niiice. if it's my money going on a lovely steel thing though i think i might plump for a milani replica. mmmm.
I do, but we tend to ride on Sundays.
There is the chance of the odd evening ride though. Where are you based?
Not to diss your 'tog, or anything, but it's not coming over in the pics!
Could be the Ti finish, I guess...
Believe me John, I've seen a lot of bikes and I've never seen one as pretty this
