road.cc on YouTube
It's all a bit busy for my tastes - understated always floats my boat, what's wrong with a little black dress, such a versatile garment… so I'm told.
The green t-shirt/pink nails combo makes you look like a set of Halo wheels made flesh
And the nails? Don't tell me you got them painted at Argos
New road.cc HQ? Could offer holidays then too. Could be a real cash er, sheep?
Or like that football club, we could all invest £500 each and run it via polls on this website?
Looks like a decent enough establishment, get a kaffa over from SA to run it and put it in the lonely planet and its a sure fire winner
Yep, when they have some. Hopefully that should be in a few weeks, just before it appears on the shops
looks nice... gonna get it in on test?
Here's a more coherent take on cycling and politics courtesy of The Bike Show http://thebikeshow.net/4-august-2008-cycling-politics-and-ideology/
Give it time…
i would *love* to see winkelman in those bins that marj is wearing
I thought politicians all rode hobby horses.
sorry.
Whereas I resent being compared to Boris Johnston.
Hey ho, takes all sorts to make a world I suppose.
What make of bike does Boris ride BTW? Not being from London I'm not up on these sorts of things. Cameron rides a Trek doesn't he?
as usual with the Heil, it's the reader comments that are the true comedy gold:
If you want to cycle, move to Holland. Simple - Andy Hoffman, Woking
I resent paying out for cyclists to ride free of charge - jack, ashford.England
this is true. Cost wise, it cost me £39 to send a set of carbon fibre aerobars to the states by parcelforce so I would suggest they are out of the running!
yeah, and it's cos you remind people of Boris Johnson… who correct me if I'm wrong all those socialists in London elected mayor last year.
If blokey is writing for the Daily Mail in a city that full of socialists I would have thought the unpopularity of cyclists was the least of his worries
Flippin 'eck, not another report on being hated!
sounds like we've got a buyer then
just let me know when the opening party is.
That is actually at the foot of the Bwlch and Rhigos.
Treorchy holds a special place in my heart, I ride though there quite often when doing the Rhigos/Bwlch route, it's a nice little town, even though Burbury are closing down there which has meant a lot of jobs going.
I did get heckled by some pretty hard looking dudes in a pub for my pink Rapha top as I rode by one summers day, and as all roads out lead up big climbs, I chose not to shout back and sprint for it!
If you were coming back from somewhere and you'd taken a bike box out with you - it would be pretty hard to check, although I suppose if they really got suspicious they could cross check to see what it weighed (or more likely what it cost you because of what it weighed) to bring it out. That's pretty unlikely, as to Bananadrama's point about it being scanned at the security gate, well you would'nt be taking it on has hand luggage would you, it would be going as hold luggage which might very well get scanned but unless it raised suspicions is not going to be linked to a particular passenger - you only have to see how hand luggage is dealt with to notice that.
However, Gandberg's original question was about getting something shipped over without him having to go out and get it.
yeah I know but is there a rule about sending an empty box? Do they check the weight of your box when going one way compared to the other?
Any rack should fit them, I'm quite a fan of Blackburn's EX1+ especially now they've beefed it up (review soon).
front luggage: depends on how much you need to carry. Personally I avoid taking front panniers if at all possible and for 2 weeks' riding you shouldn't really need them. a nice roomy bar bag is much better IMO because it means you can keep you camera/phone/cash handy, and easily take them with you if you're off the bike.
Another +1 for the Joe Blow.
I had a Park Tool one before which IIRC was in the same price bracket but leagues behind in terms of quality.
What rack is best to use with the dhb marsdens? is it worth getting a handlebar bag that just dangles from the bars or get one to fit a front rack?
An empty box will show just that when being scanned at the security gate!
Fair point Secret Squirrel.
You did!
Ahem, Tony, I said...
7. Outside of Schleck, Saxo Bank (CSC) have had a mare. What has happened to 2008's team-of-the-year?
So technically this was a prediction of his impending win!
I thank you...
It might not have been a great season, but it could have been a whole lot worse when you look at what's been happening to some of the teams that have dropped out of the Prem in the last few years. Leicester and Leeds in div 1 - Charlton and poss Norwich on the way there… Southampton possibly going out of business.
Clough Junior looks to be a good manager with a bit about him - he did a good job at Burton and given time he'll do a good job at Derby too - the worst thing that could happen is that he does it all too quickly and you go up too soon, like last time.
Me? I'm a Hammer and not much to add to what hammergonewest said about our season… I wasn't convinced about Zola at first, but I was wrong, I'd much rather play his way and not win quite so many games than play the sort of cautious stuff we were playing before. Ideally I'd like us to play it his way AND win every game.
