Somebody on Google+ just pointed me at these: http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Specialized-BG-Pro-Road-Shoe_40222.htm which look like they could be just right.

  • New shoes for big feet.1 year 12 weeks agoHave you tried Specialized, I

Have you tried Specialized, I have pretty big feed (quite wide) and mine fit nicely. Looks like they go up to 49 in commonly available sizes, I don't recall mine coming up small so worth a try at a LBS

Luckily did mine earlier in the evening. I need a good race, been a while since I had one as your catching up with me shows! Wink

    Oh yeah!

So what they're saying is that because you have better control over the braking power you can brake harder because you can more accurately control how hard you can break without losing traction?

Seems a bit of a stretch to me. I'm not knocking hydraulics at all, I'm sure there's great reasons to use them, I just still don't buy that "extra braking power" is one of them...

Well done Anto Moran and well done to Besty Andreu for making the effort to contact Cycling Ireland. Pity the others did not have any cojones.

Let's see if the rest of the Federations have the balls to reject McQuaid, Hein's puppet, for someone who can make a difference in bettering the sport in many many ways.

  • Thank God for the pizza dish1 year 12 weeks agoMay have to check the roads

May have to check the roads are open over Madeleine/Galibier as the snow has been epic this year and it will still require a massive clearance of snow to enable you to reach the top - even in June!

Ps ; just back from snowboarding in Tarentaise and i was looking at every switch back on the road with excitement. Am envious of your trip and will definitely plan one of my own soon! Enjoy the pain...

  • giro del trentino stage 21 year 12 weeks agohadnt heard of his

    hadnt heard of his comment!
But sky clearly dont care for the GC here, having given 7 min head start to bouet yesterday, and i dont think he's necessarily the man to cross the line first unless he's soloing to the win. also hasnt shown top form yet, which might be the plan, but ive got a feeling he might not be fully there this year. think nibali trumps him today. now watch him beat everyone by a minute!

  • Boom or bust? Sustrans laments "bitterly disappointing" cycling stats but British Cycling claimed boom on stats from same source1 year 12 weeks agoHmmm did any of their data

Hmmm did any of their data collection/statistics take account of the weather??? It hardly encourages new cyclists let alone us old ones!! "lies, dam lies & statistics". I suspect the trend is still on the way up but no real data to substanciate this other than the number of cyclists I saw out on Sunday!

I've taken a punt and left wiggo out. my squad is:

    Scarponi
    Nibali
    Pozzovivo
    Santambrogio
    Rebellin
    Bouet
    Vigano
    Rodriguez
    Lander

Big risk leaving out wiggo, but Pozzovivo could be a gamble that pays off. And wiggo did say he was thinking of getting off his bike yesterday, in a youtube interview I watched. What a joker!

That was my thinking too, and then at the last minute I took out Quintana for Denifl Surprise Seems pretty stoopid now, my soft spot for IAM might be my undoing. Go Denifl! (Whoever you are...)

My team is pretty bad - could've taken penalty transfers but found it difficult to find anyone obvious to bring in, so kept one or two guys for tomorrow instead. Not good on these Italian races, doesn't bode well for the Giro!

Wiggins (seems to be struggling with saddle sores tho')
    Nibali
M Rodriguez and Duarte (gotta love them crazy Columbians)
    Pardilla
    Santambrogio
    Konig
    Felline
Lander (kept in the futile hope he'll be last man)

  • Omnimoan: Road Conditions1 year 12 weeks agoYou wont be doing 50k there

You wont be doing 50k there so you should be fine. Most of the damage is on the climb out side and it is very narrow there which should limit your speed ect. The road there has a ford were the over flow from the river goes over the road not underneath in times of high water, so our bad winter has cased lots or damage to the road. The organisers of the Etape have been very skilled in there choice of rout for this event it is bonkers mega epic, taking all the best road that we have in one day and most of them are on the the good or better road surfaces around North east Wales, plus the roads are closed so you can go around the bad! You should have a very good safe day and one that you will not forget, so don't worry

What sort of sick minded person takes pleasure in hurting a fellow human being? Lets hope a stong message is dealt out; and at least a driving ban for actual bodily harm with a motor vehicle.
