That's Bournemouth for you! the council has been doing this on the quiet for several years. There will always be problems with shared routes especially as the traffic on the prom not only goes along it but across it. Mostly in the form of small kids running from beach huts to the sea! If I was a bitter man I write into the Bournemouth Echo and complain about the beach hut owners spreading out across the prom, but I'm not. A lot of the conflict would probably be solved if they painted a cycle lane....
Hopefully nonsense like this will cease when all cyclists are permitted to ride on all footpaths. Surely that's what we should be campaigning for...
Not sure if they will work because if Sram road shifters are the same as their mountain bike shifters they pull a different amount of cable to Shimano.
and ping! it's gone.
Apart from attitude and some topographical variation what is so different? I agree for long distances I want to be able to take my bike on the train more easily, but for commuting two bikes works fine. Infinitely preferable to lugging a folder on to the train and in the long run more practical too. If we really want to boost rail/bike commuting where are we going to put all those extra bikes on the train?
Fringe,
Yes,
really they shave their legs..blimey. does that help with ball control?
Best set of pictures on this site.
Let us take them on the bloody trains ffs.
How requiring everyone to have *two* bikes (one at the start of the journey, one at the end) will help matters is beyond me. Nonsense like this will assist the train operators in wriggling out of any requirement to carry bicycles on board.
repeat after me; "WE ARE NOT HOLLAND"
Beasties... back to front:
DMR Trailstar, with 24" DMR wheels, single speed and as simple as I could make it. 1980's Peugeot Roadie... single-speed again, flat bars, BMX seat, pedals and grips... Fastest commuter ever! A gift from my cycling buddies christmas just gone - I love this bike! 90's S&M Dirtbike, set up for flatland. No cranks doesn't make any odds, as I use pegs to balance on... Plus, the recession means no money for parts!
All are cool, and unique... just the way I like 'em!
Cheers, Morgan
live and let live. Sensibly one would have thought that everyone should just pay more attention - cyclists to pedestrians and vice versa. As for the enforcers, well, there is nothing like an easy target rather than a hard one!
There's another of those links somewhere else on this site - just trying to work out the relevance
Simple but hopefully effective. How many times has a driver (often on a mobile phone) said to you "sorry but I didn't see you" ?
Awareness is everything
I have been irregular between two helmets lately: The Array from Bell, and a $190 helmet from another company. While judgment would designate that dropping that extra cash would get you a greatly better helmet, the Array stands up to the more exclusive lid-and in fact, I prefer it.
the cost of players is nuts at the moment, i mean didier zokora...£10million!? Kevin doyle (no offence dave) £6-7million? Its got way beyond crazy
hmmmm, interesting link there.
its just ridiculous. Why dont the police turn their efforts to reducing crime, stopping drivers from driving dangerously, target bike thefts etc. Cyclists doing 15mph on a promenade isnt dangerous. Cyclists watch where we are going, pedestrians should also be aware...surely thats the problem solved.
I am unsure whether to be happy or sad that Liverpool have got Glen Johnson, but paid about 8million too much for him.
With the Merlin, you'll get a hard to believe bike. I had put them in a category beyond Trek or Lit speed. They build completely implausible bikes. Each one is a work of art. When you compare Trek and Merlin, I think you're talking about opposite ends of the range in terms of regular sightings. I've never seen anyone on a Cielo. Thanks the article of Merlin Cielo.
Thanks Cat1commuter that was interesting.
Jon I get what you mean now.
Anyone know if there is a website that lists places that do bike fitting?
Viner Passo looks awesome. That's one thing. Otherwise, looking through the spectacles. Miche Performance brakes are 57mm drop, so that means that it does not have super tight clearances. So you'll be able to run mudguards and/or wider tires. ccie training
Newcastle United away kit design meeting:
Mike Ashley: "Any ideas on the away new kit then?"
Gok-wan: "Yes maybe yellow and yellower stripes....I thought a comedy kit would go well with the style of football and the way the club is run"
Mike Ashley: "Any other suggestions?"
**Silence from all other board members due to being bound and gagged**
Mike Ashley: "Right, yellow it is then....next on the agenda: 'Which unknown South American winger to buy?'"
p.s I'm a Newcastle fan.
whee ... eurosport has it from 14:30 to 19:00 :-]
the maxlight goes where the trek fears to roll,
even if it does so on "monster truck" tyres :-]
I didnt intend for it to suggest it was in order to lose weight, your simply leaning on the wall to disperse some of your weight away from your knees so they get a gradual workout. It sounds too basic and when I did it there didnt appear to be any change until I tried to run and cycle again and it didnt hurt anymore. I had gone for 3 or so months of resting and training with the pain coming back almost straight away before the physio suggested this sort of light work.
I've found that this page has some useful advice and is worth reading.
